alnico classic!
never heard anything from AN, but 10" whatever classic or super could nicely work in a 25 sqmeter room.
Have you heard the 10"?
I would have some Visaton TL16H to weaken the fullrange concept (and add some airyness) : )

@ Pico: oh wow, almost ervery 10" : )

I just saw your open baffle pic. I couldn´t place them in my room.
Do you have experience in BR enclosures for the AN 10"? I saw the 5.6 enclosure recommended for the 10".
Could you say a word about difference of the magnets?
´d be curious,
tnx.

To fairly comment about differences, I will need to set them up on the 5.6 enclosure and compare them one after the other.
Give me a week or two and I will let you know.

I've been using my F6 and my Doug Self preamp to drive a pair of 3 ways (sealed) in the main house system. They aren't particularly sensitive maybe 85 dB, but it's the best sound that I've heard out of them.

In my secret listening room I've been using my M2 in conjunction with my new pre by Salas to drive a set of JX92s in back loaded horns, great combo. I'm hoping to use my VFET to drive these when I'm done building them.

Canton CT-1000

My Canton CT-1000s sound glorious with the F4. Purchased by my dad in 1985. I received them in 2009 with expired crossovers and blown tweeters. Not much compared to the hardware possessed by many here, but my total investment in these currently stands at $200. Not sure how much I'd have to spend to do better on a modern replacement.

Hmmm I'm under the impression that the 8" version is their best of breed.
But them some love their 15's. Tastes/expectations clearly differ.
Does boggle my comprehension as to how those do decent HF tho.
The 15" is better.

Study every musical instrument (ie the ones you actually enjoy listening to) as well as the human ear and you will start to understand why an observation seems to defy logic.

Now that I have some new toys to play with I might go back and compare them all again.

No need to be modest about your CT1000s. I got a pristine pair and they still run circles around many high-hyped modern and old speakers. Take care and enjoy them

Hi Pico, any progress?
I´m also interested if you coud give a comment about the 10" in the 2,8 and 5.6 enclosure. My last FR experience i had a enclosure that was too big. I had of course deeper bass, but the lively midbass really suffered.

take your time, but i´m highly interested 🙂
(about the your experience with the 15", doesn´t it beam the highs like a laser?)
