Hi, I'm new to Daphile. I've installed it on a small Intel Atom fanless PC

Using it with SMSL M8.
Works beautifully apart from a couple of small things. Hope someone can put me on the right track...
1. The little PC has an SD card slot but if I put a card (formatted NTFS) in it isn't recognised???
2. Can only use DSD over PCM. In "Native" mode I can hear faint music and a lot of static. Have played around with the settings but nothing works.
3. Can't get any version of Shairtunes to work. Sometimes I can see it queued up and playing on Daphile but no sound is heard. Has anyone got Shairtunes working on Daphile? Is there something else that needs to be installed (WaveIn??)?

Yes. Same! Nothing shows up under "Settings, Storage". My external 500GB drive is there but that's all. Tried a few different CD and Micro SD cards but none show up.

Most of Chinese DAC's are without native DSD support, whatever they say.. they using old sw for XMOS, without licence..
Use DoP, there is no sound difference..
XMOS chips work with native DSD on Linux without licence. There is a sound difference if you have good hearing. Although the packing and unpacking of DoP is lossless and bit perfect, the unpacking process causes a significant load on the XMOS chip inside the DAC. This load creates more noise inside the chip that get's transferred into the clocking and data path. It's not huge, but there's some. And it depends on how resolving the system is to really notice subjectively.

There is no sound difference between DoP and Native DSD..
By the way, your claims about hearing could be easily described as discrimination, or something worse..
So you think I'll sell more by telling people to use 1 free mode over another? I make the same money whether people use native or DoP with our DAC. I didn't mean to burst your bubble, I'm sorry but hearing ability is a prerequisite to be able to hear. This is an audio forum. You listen to audio via the sense of hearing

Many people tried to make speakers or amplifier only with their ears, and that was disaster.. but with microphone, multimeter, and maybe some knowledge one can make very decent.. without listening..
I asked you about SMSL M8.. do you have some idea why it is without Native DSD support..
