When Beethoven passed away, he was buried in a churchyard. A couple days later, the town drunk was walking through the cemetery and heard some strange noise coming from the area where Beethoven was buried. Terrified, the drunk ran and got the priest to come and listen to it. The priest bent close to the grave and heard some faint, unrecognizable music coming from the grave. Frightened, the priest ran and got the town magistrate.
When the magistrate arrived, he bent his ear to the grave, listened for a moment, and said, "Ah, yes, that's Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, being played backwards."
He listened a while longer, and said, "There's the Eighth Symphony, and it's backwards, too. Most puzzling." So the magistrate kept listening; "There's the Seventh... the Sixth... the Fifth..."
Suddenly the realization of what was happening dawned on the magistrate; he stood up and announced to the crowd that had gathered in the cemetery, "My fellow citizens, there's nothing to worry about. It's just Beethoven decomposing."

I did find this one sketch in the trash....
thats the way I do it ...
since F6...!
was it official F7 trash....??
😀😀

I'm curious. Where do the individual taps go and what is the advantage vs taking off the last cap in the chain as i've seen in other FW power supply schematics.

Each channel has it own independent RC filter, not shared like in previous power supplies.
Just stare at the circuit and it will become obvious what is happening.

Hello bra. The schematic of F7 will continue to be a secret map to a Pass treasure. I hope that you consider chasing instead the newest innovation by Mr. Pass which is DEF.
You will note that with the F5 and F7 articles, appropriate mention has
been made of the Selectronics Profet.

however , patent granted 4 decades ago , so also predating Froggie commercial efforts

Seriously ? 🙄
Back on topic - I was wondering if the conceptual schematic of the F7 on the 6 moons site could be easily converted to a push-pull Class B amplifier through appropriate biassing ?

What are ya, a bloody pansy. 🙂
Just invest in some real heatsinks and do it right. Life is too short for compromises.

ha ! - no, I'm not allergic to heatsinks. But I was looking at the F7 concept schematic on 6 moons and was seeing something that looked like the common or garden Class B amp. The positive feedback sense resistor can be split and placed into the output, each resistor will develop a voltage across it in direct proportion to the current through the load. Seems to my simple mind that the common or garden Class B (AB) amplifier with source degeneration resistors is topologically the same as the F7 concept in terms of the positive feedback thingy ?????

Yours is Common Drain, F7 is Common Source.
By the way I wouldn't use that schematic on 6 moons, it should be modified slightly.
That is just some diyaudio disinfo to trick the cloners.

The earlier link by DIYer bra showed Selectronics.fr has a ready ability to reproduce a diy clone of F5. This offering competes with diyF5 products in our diyaudio store; like its PCBs, heatsinks, and FETs. This example of potential lost revenue is expected to be minor compared with an unfortunate diyF7 clone offered by any other outfit. I hope that all DIYers continue to care for/help you safeguard your commercial interests, and well being.
The Selectronic.fr website did not mention the Profet.
