New FIFO buffer for RPI/SBCs

The only problem is that DSP cycles are rather limited in the DAC IC..

If you want to see the capabilities and limitations please download purepath software and it give you can see if the cycles are enough..

I am trying. TI's export control is also rather trying!!!

Less DSP cycles means the original method I proposed:
Satelites have a natural 80Hz rollof and then I use a 2nd order bessel filter at 120Hz (actually 116Hz due to component values).

Subs have 2nd order bessel at 80Hz and another at 120Hz.

Although this does not sum perfectly like LR4 slopes, it's damned close in amplitude terms and "perfect" in phase terms. The amplitude sum error is something like 0.5dB (cannot remember off hand if it's + or -) which is trivial compared to room effects.

Hi Dave,

OK, I got you wrong before. So you "copy" the natural roll-off of the satalite to the WF + add the LR4 filters (LP and HP) to sub and mains.

Regarding subwoofers I agree, 2 subs are better than 1 sub, but sometimes it is not possible (or position is difficult regarding room resonances) to place them in same distance as the mains, so a delay could help here.

Cheers, Jörn

Yes, strange indeed. In Volumio 2 selecting this dac does not work.

Hi Supersurfer,

I had the same problemand re-installeld volumioversion 28 juli 2016, which can detect the dddac via the hifiberry.

The kali, rpi2 and volumio works nice together on all formats, except dsd .dff higher then 128. I use de dddac psu 5v on the pins of the Kali and via the kali the rpi.

Can you play dsd 5.6 (256) and dsd 11.3 with volumio and rpi3?

On the slave codec...we have found the below :
DAC (mux) clock source is set to 000: Master clock (PLL/SCK and OSC auto-select)
If both are present...PLL and SCK , with autoselect , we think that system will chose the PLL (still testing)...anyway time to modify the driver if thats the case.

Is it possible to supply the TI PurePath project for download as an example for those of us new to working with it?

Also, I assume the driver source will be incorporated into the kernel at some point. In the meantime are your changes available as a patchset?

Yes changes are available as patches, we are working right now to have the whole kernel tree on github. Should be available today

I don't think we can because of the TI license... everyone should download it for themselves. It usually takes a few days to be approved.

However what we might be able to do...is to make custom flows .
