Finally I can use my Amanero noDAC at 256 native.
I have compiled realtime kernel for audiolinux with official patch (LE) for Amanero and new firmware 1099c
Both Dop and native 256 very good!
Native 512 distorted.
We are almost there...
As a side note, my noDAC with only passive filter and Amanero is a lot better than the other with latest XMOS from DYIHNK

Upsampling with iFi micro iDSD working with some HQPlayer configurations up to DSD512 with convolution.

Which version of Amanero firmware are you using? Is it 1099rc1 or is it some other one?
No, is the new 1099c (Little Endian) out today! In the next days the Big Endian version.
Patched kernel for archlinux/audiolinux here: Index of /ftp/packages/kernel/Amanero

Hmm, Amanero website still shows 1099rc1. Any chance you can provide the link to the new firmware?
you must start ConfigTool.exe (inside OEMtool zip file) and you will see the firmware.
A new version 1099e out just now

I would appreciate some advice concerning selection of an inductor as I am not really sure of precisely what I'm looking for. I'm putting together a second order LCR filter as I am interested to see how it performs against my previous RC LP filter. The filter will be for a single-ended DSD project.
The filter calculator says I need a 5.6mH inductor. Would this be a suitable inductor for this project;

or perhaps this if I use smd parts;

if not, can someone point me towards what I need.
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys nobody can help us?
TIA
Felipe
Both of the parts you list are definitely 5.6mH Inductors and if that's what your circuit calls for then they will do the job.
I have used similar inductors to both types you list in DAC filters before now and they work and sound good.
Hope that helps,
P.

Thank you.
Thanks Ray.
No problem merlin. For info, I'm using the Glassware TCJ Filter Designer software to calculate the filter.

I have made some quick measurements of my two noDAC, using Audacity software spectrum analyzer and my Scarlett mic/line preamp. I have used a 1 kHz PCM tone at 44100 Hz, converted to DSD with HQPlayer (minringFIR, DSD7 noise shaping)
1) Amanero with the latest firmware 1099be and single RC filter R=33 ohm and C=0.1u
2) DIYHNK 768K with xmos xCORE-200 and 2nd order RC filter R=3300 ohm C=1n with output capacitor in series 2.2u
As you can see, in Amanero armonic distorsion is following a linear decreasing very similar to the distorsion beahavior of some SET tube amplifier.
In the second case there are higher order harmonics and noise is a worse. A "rrrr..." or, if you want, a "zzzz..." is clearly audible.
