Do you have the exact reference of your audio gd hdmi/i2s module?
There are two of them, one i2s=>hdmi (which should work) and one receiver hdmi=>i2s (which won't work in your application)
And don't forget to connect GND

Yes i use the output version, i also connect the ground wire. I also check the voltage, my cronus get 5 v and my hdmi i2s have it's 3v3.
Also in my case, what should i use fort the clock ? My jumper is on 1:2.
I hope this is not a problem of compatibility with my dac

I install all the resistor. My i solder everything exept one led that is miss on my kit.
My dac is a musicaltech rd 40, it's hdmi i2s out is suppose to be compatible with psaudio spec, i asked directly them directly.

I fear there can be a few differences between full psaudio specs and what audiogd use...
(Power or not, signal flags, etc.)
Hard to tell without full pin assignment scheme from musicaltech.

I think the problem come from the software side.
I will make a photo of my installation. I got strange things, i cannot access to mpd web interface with ip_adress:8080, it say "connection refuse" and i don't arrive to connect mpd with my mpd client (cantata), but i get a ssh root access to botic distribution, i tried to restart mpd but nothing change.

If it's software related, I can't help, sorry...

I don't see any obvious mistakes here, but I don't know much about BBB-Hermes.
You need help from better informed persons, sorry.
Good luck with it!

HELP part 2
When i only use the hermes for a function test.... do i need an 3.3V power supply for the clean side? normally it should be possibe to connect the isolated output from the hermes to my dac...
can i do the same with the cronus? directly th the amanero an than into the dac? if it is possible i can find out whats not workling...
i was not sure about the i2s output from the cronus. can you pls give me the right pins for sdata, bckl, gnd and LRSKl? after reading over 400 postings... i still was not sure.
THX a lot!
can i check the hermes an Cronus seperatly without an osci?Hello!
i need some help with the amanero/hermes/cronus/rhea.
i got mine one a few weeks ago. today the last missing crystall came. i put all components together, flashed the amanero in slave mode - set the configuration bits... and nothing... daphile and windows found the device, but no sound. i checked all multiplier jumper, resistors, cables, conf. bites - nothing.
i got 2 amanero boards - no board was running in the setup. then i try to use the hermes without cronus. in normal mode an in slave mode... no sound. any ideas?

Hello, I posted my question already in the Hermes Amanero Thread which was possibly wrong. Once again:
In the Hermes/Amanero-thread Russ posted that it would be able to connect an Amanero and a BBB to the Cronus and switch between them.
How would the connection to a BIIISE be then?
BIII - Cronus - OTTO II and then Hermes BBB and Hermes Amanero attached to the OTTO?
BR, jan

Hermes boards were not designed for such use complex use case.
However theoretically it is possible:
- use OTTO to route 1, 3, 5, 15 pins of Cronus to two Hermeses
- do not connect 7, 9, 11, 13 pins
- route other pins to both Hermes-BBB and Hermes-Amanero
But no warranty. This could damage something and also it might not work too.
Maybe Russ could clarify this.

Hello,
I think BIII - OTTO - 2x Cronus would also be no option? But even if that would work, the setup gets too complicated and expensive.
What about the possibility of the BBB acting as a USB Sound card you once mentioned?

Whether somebody made the working decision for simultaneous work of (Amanero USB) and (spdif to I2S) through Cronus at synchro-mode BIIISE?
As far as will work (Amanero) + (spdif to I2S) ->OTTO-II->Hermes->Cronus->BIIISE ?
And it is better for what board spdif->I2S to use?

Hi there. Just assembling my Cronus at the moment. I would like to know what R1-R7 are for. I have seen pictures of all resistors just parallel, but on Miero's site, they are installed different... what is right?
It all depends on the dac after the cronus.
Are you using multichannel on a BBB?
Or only stereo with amanero?
And what is your dac?

I begin to understand. The DAC will be a B3SE (when becoming available again), source is a BBB, Stereo only.
