Well lets just see. A physician thinks there is problems with dirty mains, so does he call the approved electrical contractor or the product manufacturer. NO he calls a hifi company... Hmm is it even approved for the purpose (litigation friendly america). Personally I would be happier with the person treating me calling a professional EE to look at the problem. But that's just me.
I am not saying power conditioning cannot work. I am saying if it does then the OE has a problem.
What acutally amuses me is Michael Lavorgna, whose work would be funny were he not peruading people to part with their money Quoting him

You make totally unfounded assumptions about what I believe based on how you want to project me as a person. I thought James Randi had proved that mind reading was a con.

Measurements mean nothing if not done properly. If he had had an EE come in and check out the cabling before and measure mains bourne noise I might have considered there to be something valid. But he didn't. He chose to phone up a hifi company and probably get a good deal on a system for his home in return for a video and probably voiding his indemnity insurance.
And if there really was a significant drop in the noise floor why were the equipment manufacturers not called in to verify?

The asssumptions are running thick and fast. Unfortunatley you probably don't/can't recognise them as such. At least you're consistent.

Reading some of the comments is worth the link on its own, especially the second one down, the guy is obviously a physics professor....
it's pretty difficult to point something out to someone when they clearly demonstrate that they don't understand what it is.
So try and explain it. Note the definition of cognitive dissonance as a starter and the fact that you then said my 'skeptic street cred is intact'. That would infer I was being consistent.
Differences such as these are best decided by personal duel - preferably at dawn in some far distant place.
I was thinking a couple of those advanced combat guns which also fire grenades...they are Belgian I believe and seem freely available to all and sundry! This of course presupposes that either is capable of hitting a barn from the inside.
I called Shunyata and asked if their Hydra power conditioners were UL544* approved. They'll have to get back to me on that.
It would be interesting to compare them with Major1PC Single Phase Power Conditioners which is UL544 approved
