I had the opportunity to listen to the single pair vfet amp driving the SAL
full range speakers In a sealed box (subject of part 3 of Papa's talk).
Very, very nice.

I don't know, since the Sony Vfet amp isn't a commercial product of Firstwatt or Pass Labs. At least not that I am aware of.

The one he shows only has one set of VFets per channel. I wonder about the matching, and guess he decided to only put one pair in each to double his number of units. I also wonder if he checked his VFets to be sure they are good.

No doubt one of the causes of the sudden loss of VFet stock.

I have 6 sets, and hope to get some to match well enough for an amp with 2 sets per channel.

It is pretty obvious this guy is infringing on Nelson's copyright. He's lifted pieces of the description almost verbatim from what's been published on the First Watt website. I haven't compared the pcbs so I can't offer an opinion on that. I wouldn't be surprised if a fair amount of plagiarism occurred there as well.

I seem to recall someone asking Papa in the room with the VFET amp
if there are some delays. Not sure what the answer was.

However, they are definitely coming. 🙂

The SAL full range and the VFET made for a very enjoying pairing.

I just thought of a partial solution to this problem.
Nelson could design a case for us DIYers, have it manufactured in China, sell it in his PASS DIY Store website at good price with some profit margin then no one would even bother buying these fakes when they could buy something from Nelson directly.
