Medical\military\aerospace demand traceability and having data sheets is a big part of that, cant see them using Bybees any time soon.
This seems to be true. I wonder why, on the face of it, phantom perception doesn't extend to certain other human senses/markets such as vision? Or maybe it does..... It seems to in taste and smell though. Not touch. Odd, don't you think ?It is mainly only in the esoteric world of audio where magical components are used....

It does in a way, I found a technical discussion on the curved TV's and there is way more going on than I thought. Apparently the vision systems ability to adapt (the inverting glasses is the extreme case) comes into play and some of the keystoning of the image is adapted away. Off axis enough and nothing helps.
' the GIMP'
Good show, anything military should always be appealing for esoteric paraphiliacs.
Not touch.
Yes, touch. Haptics is a very active research area.

What do you call acupuncture then?
I could easily see Bybee penetrating the alternative, ahem, I mean Integrative Medicine landscape.
Exactly. Our brains are wired for over detection. But some people prefer to remain in complete denial of their own humanity. Much more comforting to them that way. Unfortunately that keeps them trapped in a Theodoric of York world of ignorance.

One of my old favorites has been the one where you cross your index and middle fingers, then roll a marble underneath them. Strange that your touch overrides your vision, but strange in a very cool way.

This is similar to results that people hear and we here dont understand how that could be -- so it cant be. The curved screen works from what I see which directly led me to buy it. True about off axis too much but it is still better off axis a reasonable amount.
High end products by Samsung and other majors are Not the same at marketing as high-end audio. If anything, they do not explain enough. I guess, if they have to explain the video technology to sell units then you arent their kind of customer. If you cant see the improvement, then buy something else.
Visual-brain interaction is extremely complex... maybe more than audio perceptions as it is the primary sense we use. Like so many high tech superior products - curved screen display technology will not have a long sales life. The early adoptors get to have them and the rest buy lesser for a multitude of reasons and never know and enjoy what is really possible. It isnt That expensive and there are credit cards. 🙂
Thanks for adding some useful back-up comment. It's to your credit that you took the time and looked into it.

If there a YouTube video?

Fair enough, personally I'm 99% content 1% presentation. Western civilization has little enough left to say, why burden it unnecessarily? As I said before I make my kids pay the difference over the cheapest cell phone even though I could buy each of them a Tesla S2.

I tend to feel the same way about parenting......... frills and extras they pay for. Besides, he is too old to have me paying for anything.
However, in retirement I will spoil myself. After the initial purchase it is years of viewing software before any hardware changes. So, it is always 99-1 ratio as significant new tech changes dont come along as frequently as watching good movies...... BTW - the Chinese have been making some fantastic beautiful high resolution pictures (and wonderful stories). Great to see on a really good display. Its all there in the recording to be seen.

You've got to be kidding.
Get a marble or ball bearing or ___ and do it.
"middle fingers" ? I thought there was one, usually associated with obscene gestures. I don't under stand how you cross the two inside fingers with with index, and roll the marble where? Don't get it.
Go away, Theodoric.
