Wow....prices really are dropping!

Followed your link, and then browsed....found this

HIFI Class 2.0 Stereo Digital Amplifier TPA3116 Advanced 50W + 50W-in Amplifier from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

Worth the money to me for the enclosure alone. 20x15x12 decent size for custom board....mmmm. Better take the wife out for dinner again to sweeten the purchase money pot!
Don't tell ... 😀
Bought the same one even cheaper, few days ago - here!

Hot dang! Feeding frenzy coming on. $23 for a boxed amp with connectors and knobs. Unheard of. Free shipping too. Like I don't have enough amps already. But wait, I don't have many boxed amps.

This is about same price as a Lepai amp and this box and amp are better.

I have a nit to pick with Breeze Audio amps are the unshielded inductors that flop around and break.

Don't forget it's got a power on/off switch too.:bulb:

There's a version with tone controls too!

Erm.... that's a "mute" switch, actually 🙂

If you go and plug in a "live" DC power, you'll have a nice light show (or, rather, spark show), regardless of the position that switch... 🙂

It irritated me so much that I rewired it to act as an actual "power switch", and solved "mute" by adding a diode and a resistor.... Much better now 🙂

Never could understand why the heck the designer made it a "mute" switch instead of "power".... To avoid turn-on pop, perhaps?

BTW, it's not a bad amp at all.

When I got it, I soon sold my old NAD amp, and the Breeze has been my main amp for almost a year now.
Supposedly the 2.1 version (with tone controls and "sub" output) isn't that good....

I have a Breeze 2.1. The stereo part worked fine but sub part did not have enough of an adjustable XO - basically fixed at 350Hz regardless of position of frequency knob. That would be fine if stereo channels were high passed at 350Hz but they were full range. As 2.0 probably sounds better than stock YJ blue.

Edit: sounds like 2.0 sounds good based on post above mine.

Genuine. That's the issue. "Original and Genuine" TPA3116 amps change parts like I change underwear

Jadrins link shows an amp which looks the same but front panel not claiming to be Breeze audio in letter type. I doubt the amps are different, so I would be doubtful of any manufacturers name on case.

I bought 2 of what the seller claimed "official" YJ blues, turned out to be HSDZ printed on pcb.:headshot:

Just been looking again at yellow board in pic of the link I posted.... Circuit does look like mute, rather than power...mislabeled switch? Mislabelled manufacturer!

What is amusing is the right cap behind the volume know.... Is that a huge solder melt in front left corner?
Quality control? Not a great promo picture to post in a sale ad!!!!

Regarding mislabeled controls on cheap Chinese amps: some (all?) of the Lepai TP2020 amps had the bass tone control knob labeled "boss".

In the big thread here for that amp, someone asked what the "boss" knob was for. Someone else replied that it controls the amount of Bruce Springsteen that comes through. 🙂

I feel they refer to the box/packaging with that 20x15 size. I have the board-only, ordered through UK eBay. It's 100 (plus component overhang) by about 84. It's titchy. 🙂

The hifi 2.0 amp is a good little amp right out of the box. It's also quick to take it apart and slide out the pcb for more mods 🙂 If you change out the cooling fin it also has a layout that allows for some easy modding. I've written a mini review of it some couple of hundred pages back ^^. Only problem that I see with it is the low quality capacitors used, so I wouldn't give more than 19-21V for long periods of time.
