TPA3116D2 Amp

It's Alive!
Found a reasonable wooden box at the local 1$ store. Works well.
The thing; Blu /black Board, works surprisningly well, albeit perhaps a bit Tizzy.. but good detail and Decent bass. Early days yet though.
Power Supplies, from 12V to 24V makes Not a Whit of Audible difference. At least on My Wee MarkAudio Full rangers.
Power up ' Scrotch ' Is of concern. Nothing at turn off tho.

This thing is Sensitive to input RF(?) pickup. I foolishly didn't twist Or Fit shielded wires from input/rca's to Alps to PCB..
Each leg being ~1" long.
Wasn't an issue with 2020's. I will deal with it 🙂

Sounds?? Similar to my Yuan Jing Ta 2020 pcb/amp which I've been using for garage tunes these last couple of years.
Small audible differences, if any actually, when A/B'd.
That's not a complaint, just a reference point.
Tripath Chips, when either Genuine OR passably mfg'd Fakes ..Are.. surprisingly Good. Too many(most?) are sad copies tho.
Note that virtually Every part on the Yuan Jing ta 2020 pcb IS Fake, including the "wima's" .
Replacing those with 'Genuine' same value bits, gave Audible improvement 😉.

Wonder if similar shenanigans are present with This 3116 Yuan Jing??

PS;
without removing the Resistors that control/set Gain( to read their silkscreened R) Can anyone tell me what they are.. so I can just snip a lead on the offending one (trying for 20db gain) 😱

Looking from inputside cut left resistor (=100k).

Fake parts? Horrible parts are on YJblue, probably like any other YJ board past first sales.

I personally don't believe the hype with cinemags, nor other makes. They are transformers, which are non-linear to the signal, and will add in low order harmonics. They are coloring the sound by trying to replicate a valve/tube amp sound. If you want a valve/tube amp then build one instead of replicating one!

Agree, try the guanzo preamp with mods. It is delicious with TPA 3116

The $50 guanzo is indeed a good match for the 3116

Thank you.. sir 😉
I only run a cd gizmo as direct input. Preamp, even a bespoke Tube project one gave no audible advantages for me.. Just more gear to deal with.

At least the Caps aren't all Red /labelled as Wima's.. now blue on this version

Still faced with the power up "Scortch' Noise though.
Not pleasant and a bit disconcerting.
Any 'fixes' for that?

Question about mute and the WLX board.

I've DIY'd a box, extending the volume pot and remote mounting the power-on LED and replacing the mute lever switch with a push switch.

On measuring DC volts with my MM I find no volts, unless the mute button is engaged, in which case I see around 16V on two of the pins (ex-thinkpad PSU) . (I have a buck to install to drop to 3-5V for a "mute status" LED but that's pretty irrelevant, though it's rekindled my interest in understanding how it works).

Surely one of the three lines on the mute circuit should carry 17V?

hello, i'm new here
i have a question in mind,
i have topping TP22 TK2050 30W/Ch, paired with floorstand 86dB/w
i find it's lacking bass punch, i'm about to order breeze audio TPA3116 2.0, is there any noticeable different in sound characteristic vs TK2050???
i'm also interested in TA2022 Topping TP60, is there anyone here have them???
i'm very happy if someone share their impression with me
THnX

Which means the above middleman likely paid the hapless maker ~3$ for it,
And is the Why.. of using mostly all 'locally made' parts.
As a guess, shipping is gonna be 4$. Then there are the Ebay 'fees'

Always amazes me when Chi Fi gear actually works. Real issue is: for How long?
