200W IRS2092 Amp for $20

I have exactly the same experience! I had earlier a Sure 2092 board with linear Power Supply. It had more sharp highs, more punchy bass overall more precise sound than tpa3116, but after 30 minutes of listening I noticed something "strange" (clinical?) in its character and has become fatigue to listen.

Tpa3116 has more tubish (smooter) sonic character and extremely good tonal balance. Very easy to listen to several hours. It has more laid back sound and a bit smaller soundstage compared to irs2092 (and Hypex UCD 400) but sounds very natural.

every sure scope I see has a huge spike of noise around 1K

Hi all, i'm new on the forum, and a newbie in the costruction of audio amp, i'm interested to make one with this board to use as a guitar power amp, i have purchased it yet.
The amp works with 4 and 8 ohm, but i sometimes find 16 ohm cabinets at the concerts, will the amp work aniway or i'll risk to destroy it?
Thank you and sorry for bad english.

Your name is the same as the +/-53v power supply. :)

16ohms won't cause damage - you just may not be able to drive max power. Also the LC filter on amp is tuned for 8 or 4 ohms. You can parallel two 16ohm speakers for 8ohm.

I accidentally paste the name of the ps at the end :D
Thank you for your answer, i tested it with the connex smps300re, but it seems to have less power than the one i made first, a tda7498, running into one channel leaving the other with a dummy load connected, both at 8 ohm, is it possible?

If you used the same smps300re for the TDA7498, Max voltage is 32v. The IRS2092 needs 55v version to get max power.

That looks like a nice option with mostly thru hole components vs all the SMT's used on the subject amp. I have not used this one yet. I am on a class AB LM3886 kick at the moment and got a second unit to finish off my 4 channel active setup so I can a real comparison of sound quality from all class AB vs TPA3116D2 or TDA7498 powered 3 way.

The class AB's are a real eye opener with the amount of heat burnt off on the heat sink.

I should also put the class AB against my IRS2092 as that has very very low HD on paper.

I just got this new board from Aliexpress and i'm going to install and test it instead of the old i have.
As maybe you can see the negative of the speaker is in common with main ground, can i turn the amp safely or i risk something?
Thank you and sorry for bad english.
