Zenith console speaker wiring/removal

Thanks! I don't want to hurt myself and I know nothing about the wiring part. I think I'll throw in the towel. Seems to difficult, as if it's a job for a professional. Here I thought this was commonly done. Thought there might be a step by step guide on YouTube. Thanks for all the advice.

Hi,

You can't give a step by step guide to using common sense.
What you want to do is relatively easy for anyone who
knows what they are doing, i.e. can apply the basics.

i.e. work out the crossover and maintain driver phasing.

Just want to have separate boxes and have this on the back.

Crossover? and speaker info

What is in this first picture (besides 45 years of dust)? The wires from each side of the console enter into this and then go towards the receiver. I know I can do this, I just need some guidance.

Well how can I make two speakers? I don't know how to say it..how can the wiring be completed so that the speakers can be in one box? It looks like the crossover is central then it goes to the units receiver. How can I make 2 separate speakers? Please in laymans terms. I know everyone here can do it. I've actually never done this but am savvy with many other things. I can start by taking it all apart. But honesty, can someone walk me through it? I posted the pictures. I've asked the questions. I've gotten some answers but the lingo is complex and some posts have warned me of the dangers too. What tools are needed? Where shall I start? How can I be safe.

ok first the first pic you supplied is the rear panel connection point for the extension speakers that could be purchased to extend/enhance the performance of the base system into a quasi surround system.
the only thing that needs to be verified is whether the mid horn was high passed at the amp the tweeters appear to share same wiring.
from the literature it appears that crossover frequency was 1k between bass and mid but the tweeters are probably 1st order high passed at 5k so what's the dilemma?

Looking at the pics, I don't think it's that hard - there is only one pair of wires going to the amp, & there is a single cap poking out at the RH side of the horn... i.e simplest xover possible...
so, make your boxes, (~same size as existing cavity & with open back), transfer the speakers with the same wiring, & connect the lower pair of wires coming off the woofer to the speaker terminals you want to use... voila...

well your looking at it so you'll have to relay answers and information to best of your layman ability.
just so i can guesstimate your skill/ability level:can you read a schematic? do you own a multimeter?(and if so have a basic understanding of how to use it?)
the wiring/and crossover that seems confusing to you is a simple scheme using capacitors (caps for short) to divide the frequencies to suit the driver frequency range(at this time i'll not try to befuddle you with to much crossover design philosophy but this topic can be bewildering for someone new.we can assume that your happy/liking them as is and just want to transplant them to new enclosures correct?)
