maybe can be used as pass elements in HV regulators... I would gladly test these!

Yamaha used SITs as psu pass elements in some organs. I have examples using 2SK76/2SJ26 and 2SK98/2SJ38.

Good days all. Today I have finished second channel. Photo is second channel to full power and its spectrum. This sit are polarized better than other because its symmetry. I need touch first channel...
One question Mr. Rochaster, if curves are not equally spaced, then output wave are not symmetric????.
I have hear them during one moment only with music and my toughts: soft, very soft. But today I only have used Proac Response One 1SC with 86 db. I hope to hear tomorrow with high sensibility speakers.
Regards

Just to report back - I tested my remaining 2SK182ES (S/N 1Z2483 to 1Z2490) and all are not good. So all 16 pieces of transistors will be sent back to eyelabo_jp.

@soundhappy, I hope your transistors are better than mine, maybe you could send one piece to Michael to check its curve.

Few neutral feedback( cloud) are from people

I concur, I have no reason to believe he's anything but honorable. I'm giving him a chance to honor his policy before I form an opinion.

I'm unsubscribing from this thread before it devolves into something unproductive, so please know I won't be answering here.

Got my first troll-o-gram last night. It was a doozy, and I'll address some of its themes here.

I would like to point out that I do this for free. Apparently for fun. I am not supporting a commercial enterprise, asking for donations, or selling magazines. I get nothing from my Youtube project except the pure fun of watching someone else have a "Eureka" moment. I have given away (as in free) good parts, and answered a lot of emails over the years, all with one goal: to share the enjoyment of learning by making stuff. Everyone else's end of that bargain is simply to be patient while things develop.

I do this, in part, so you can see working examples, so you don't have to take the risk of figuring out what works and what doesn't if you don't want to. And if you do decide to take some risk, then learn to enjoy the journey because what you're not usually shown by the experts is all the failures that led up to a successful project.

Now for the transistors. Think about this: there are probably more good 300B's available in the world than good SITs. If you choose to collect transistors like postage stamps then you have to realize, that some will be good, some will be bad, and some will be fake. This is the price of Poker. I usually buy two pieces at a time to test the waters. Sometimes I buy more but, when I do, I try to buy from suppliers that offer returns, and I'm always polite and respectful about business until I'm given a reason not be. Bad stock circulates, stuff gets bought, stuck in a drawer somewhere, and twenty years later it makes the rounds again. It doesn't always mean the merchant has bad intentions. And, you can always buy your stuff from Mouser.

As for the bad Tokins, don't get outraged at me because I let you know they might be bad. I could have left everyone in the dark to build crappy amps. Is that what I should have done?

There's a reason I took a six month break from the forums, and now I've remembered why. I still fully intend to do my Youtube stuff and help out wherever I can, but I won't be using the forums as a communication channel as much. So, if you'd like to contact me or show support, please find me on Youtube or my website. I'm always glad to hear from you and you can easily reach me by email or at my Youtube channel.

Thanks, and Happy Building 🙂

I got a mail reply from eyelabo_jp this morning, he didn't asked any questions, just apologized and gave me the return address, and told me that he'll refund me in Paypal once he receives my return parts.

While it's true that part of his Tokin stocks seem to be defective, he seems to be a fair and friendly person so far. Hopefully I can maintain the same comment when the money is transferred back in my Paypal account 🙂

So I only lost 10 USD of return shipping cost, not so bad considering the experience I got and now I have a slightly better understanding of SIT curves.

Well said Michael, thanks for your good volunteer at all, I am one of your pupils, here and in everywhere you want. Don't worry please, there are people that appreciate your work that is amazing, clear and fantastic for newbies and advanced people. Do not be put off, if anyone could do it was a bad day. However there are many days in a week and more in a month in which carefully we are ready to learn from you. Amigo.
