Output inductor very hot

I would replace and/or re-wind BOTH CORES.

It's possible the one that is shorted is the one not getting hot, causing the other core to take on the full voltage of the carrier causing the heat, instead of them evenly dividing it.

That amp is worth repairing, especially just over toroid cores!
