Victims of fashion, trends and marketing, got a few in my family (mostly daughters, who's collective IQ figures would barley break into double figures) (they are upsetting me at the moment, not a happy pappy).
It nice to see all the attempts at finding some reason why cable lifters work, in fact any possible reason however tenuous so that the truth dose not have to be faced.... They do jack S***
I think there are some extremely, highly unlikely circumstances where they might make a difference, but then the ideal solution would be to correct the problem properly, rather than try to use lifters.
It's a bit like using an 8 foot ladder to go over an open sewer cap when you could just walk around it...and the problem with audio junk, the ladders are all made of gold plated titanium costing $15,000.

No-one seems to have any data to support even this lame excuse.
I say extremely unlikely, for example...finding out your downstairs neighbor runs his ham radio antenna across the ceiling, maybe. But then again, 4 more inches probably wouldn't do s***...
I'm sure if we try hard enough, we could engineer an example on purpose..but I'm generally in your camp, I think these things were invented only to separate fools from their money.

Bingo. Even if the antenna is for 2 meters.
CABLE ELEVATORS at Music Direct
It is all explained in the bunf, with the cable on the floor it compresses the fields around the cable, lifting it up removes this compression. Simple when its explained properly and all us unbelievers poo poo-ing the idea as silly!

Even in a modest system, the first and most noticeable improvement is in the midrange; it's as if the system took a decongestant. Improvements in midrange clarity, bloom, presence, smoothness and coherency are instantly noticeable. After the shock of this improvement settles in, the next most noticeable improvement is in the treble, with greater air, extension, space and sweetness. Bass also becomes tauter, tighter, deeper and more defined. Imaging and soundstaging are also greatly improved, revealing more depth and nuance from every recording.
Nobel Prize to be delivered shortly.
They missed "palpability" in their Audiophile Buzzword salad. Tsk, tsk.
Doh! and there was me thinking they only existed for the mother in law to trip over. That'll teach me for being so cynical 🙄
But no explanation is given as to why they can't be shipped out of the country.CABLE ELEVATORS at Music Direct

Probably contain a hush hush secret ceramic material, I believe they are made up from ground up BQP's.
Looking at the price they aren't as expensive as I thought, it would be one of those fun things to try just to P*** the Mrs of when she's going round with the vacuum cleaner...

My house, like many of its era, has suspended wooden floors. Does that mean I don't need cable lifters, or are my floorboards made from the wrong type of wood?
You need to replace your floors with reinforced concrete, then you will get some benefit from the cable lifters....

Has to be pre stressed as well, can't have a 1/100th millimeter deflection from a heavy speaker screwing it all up.
Balsa wood..
Schnerzinger cables - any experience? - Page 10
Nice mono-rail..
I asked a different question a while ago:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/everything-else/240941-rfi-speaker-cables.html
Something was mentioned, however I can't remember where about tube amps and the output Tx acting as step up in the reverse direction then linked to the FB circuit..its probably irrelevant I can't think how being parallel would have an effect..<<another red herring! Maybe..

I see even PS Audio puts their name on snake oil.🙁 Someone else has an adapter so you can use your fridge to burn in your power cords, wonderful stuff all.
BTW guys I guess jn and I wasted our time a few months ago when we demonstrated (as it had to be) that there is no difference in looking at the speaker/cable/amp system by transmission-line or lumped techniques."Impedance" matching relates directly to the damping in the lumped element representation, in this case giving jn a read on his IAD issues.

I wonder that since we have a shrinking market for audio, companies are getting hard pressed to go ahead and promote iffy products to maintain profitability.

"iffy" a wall wart that removes the power line noise from your house by converting it to light, presumably via the blue LED on the front.
🙄
Ah but without the blue led would it have the same appeal.... and would it work.😉
Personally anything with a blue led drives me mad, to bright and not natural for our eyes....
