Hello, first say that I write little English so I'm using the google translator, surely many of the things that I misunderstand explain but I will try 🙂

I begin this project of building a 2-way monitors Audiotechnology C-woofers and tweeters Quenze 18H521706SD Seas Excel T29MF001, the choice of drivers is the following:

The woofer Audiotechnology is a woofer that goes well at all as it is very balanced, climbs well and low well, which is very important in a 2 way to avoid shortages, another aspect of Audiotechnology I like is that it gives me musicality and musical realism, such that I did not even transmitted Dynaudio drivers are quite similar.

The Seas tweeter for my taste is the best I've heard so far, I've had Scan Speak, Dynaudio, Morel, Seas, Raal, etc .... and nothing is affordable to the tweeter which I think is a great unknown before to try 2 My friends I was told it was the best tweeter who had never heard and I had no choice but to get some to try Smile, was removing Raal that had a provisional asset with Adiotechnology and see the light , sounded with amazing definition, full-bodied, at any volume as it is as if they are attenuated and never becomes tedious or be upset, that afternoon I put songs I listen to all styles and all sounded like the glory ..

The design of the boxes I've done entirely with Rhinoceros milling parts with CNC milling machine, all part ... Aesthetic say I've done starting from 0, I tried to design something a little different than traditional monitors because I value quite aesthetics and I need my sight boxes please me apart from the ear.
Regarding the technical and the reflex port, volume box and filters I have had a great professional and in the end the filter is the most important and will determine if the boxes sound great or not, so without your help I would have never gotten into this project.

Regards

I suggest adding some free space between the upper and lower panels and the front cover. The MDF will shrink significantly: the thickness can reduce by 10% or more in time. If that front panel gets in the way of both outer panels nearing each other the casing will crack open.

I'm following you for a few days on another forum Spanish ...
En primer lugar ... hermosa! Complimenti!

I really like the 18H521706SD and I wanted to make us a MTM or TMM. For this I watched some tweeters to also use.
Many use the morel supreme 110 or Hiquphon OWII (Skaaning too). Others use scan speak. Others use ribbon(raal / Fountek / raven)
I wanted to try to use the Scan Speak D3004 / 6600. But then I thought of using the 7100 because of increased efficiency (to try a MTM).
I still have not decided.
Now I see that you use the "Magnum" and I'm very curious.(I've never listen too!) You've tried it together with the c-quenze? how will the crossover? you do not think to put a tweeter any more "sweeter"?
you publish the crossover and simulations?

Todavía no he decidido

Ciaooo

hello, front and back cover not are finished yet, once the wood and painted treated is allowed to dry and then we'll let the front and rear sanded the exact size upholstery with leather, has to be 1mm to enter the upholstered but that toward the end, when finished boxes.
a greeting

Hello, a friend of mine has the audiotechnology 15h with morel and what will change for a scan speak ring or magnum. The tweeter is a very personal choice but the magnum is fantastic, is a tweeter that is rarely used for many projects but for my personal taste is very nice, the best I've heard
The box will have 18 liters and cutting the woofer will be first order and second-order tweeter because usually listen to music at a medium / high volume.
The final cut and I'll say when this all ok.
greetings 🙂

I hate to break it (no pun intended) but that vertical brace and probably the steel thread wires too will mean trouble. Or rather the layered construction. I wonder if my advice regarding the physical aspects of MDF has been understood...

hello, if I understand you, I have friends who have built similar boxes and spent years with them and have not had the problem you mention, I found it curious.

Attached is a picture of MDF that was submerged in water for 24 hours. Thickness has doubled. I think your construction with the brace in the middle doesn't account enough for shrinking and expanding MDF. If your material is dry enough, this will probably not be an issue, but did you check?
