This is my current system, consisting 340Hz Azura lacleach horn with Faital Pro HF200 driver, Faital Pro tweeter horn and one inch Faital driver. Mid bass is Eminence 12 inch Kappalite in Birch ply sealed cab. Bass is EV 18 inch in mega heavy sealed 200 liter cab.
Outer cab is American Walnut, with walnut CNC'd horn stand.
Mini DSP for xover, with Holton Precision Audio six channel amp.
Moving to passive xover for the horns, retaining MiniDSP for bass.
After years of building systems for Tannoy, ALtec, Lowther etc...this is a real enjoyable system...a keeper.

This is a CAD CNC approach I used for the famous ALtec VOTT A7, using birch ply.
Top horn is Jabo 300Hz with Altec 288C two inch compression driver.

You're killing me.Here is my Carfrae kit horn, plus my 'lite' version with no powered sub bass. Again, clever use of CAD CNC....

Andrew....
Very nice looking projects. Congrats for that.
I have a question.....
Original Yuichi 290 have curbed laterals.
Yours are straight.....or at least don't see curved sides on the pics.
Did you have some measurements to compare the differences?....
Thanks.

Thanks. I haven't built the curved side model...as Yuichi have another model with straight sides...so I thought I'd blend the two models into one.Andrew....

Thank you.
What exactly ?
There are some evolution-steps over the last years. Here is a thread with some information on the old system (I kept the Mid/High Horns and tappedhorns) and the built of the new midbass horns.

I got some pictures how I built the mid/high horns here
Hinkelsteine
and here (casting with concrete)
MiWi-Horn
Here are the pictures how I built the midbass horns

very cool speakers MiWi. Tell us more.

I was able to locate all the drivers you listed as using, but what are the actual white horns being used and where exactly did you buy them?
Thanks,

It´s all DIY (the whole system, not only the speakers).
Mid/High horns are glasfibre/polymeric-concrete/glasfibre sandwich (apr 90lbs) - 420Hz - 20kHz
Midbass horns are fibre reinforced concrete / polystyrene / fibre reinforced concrete sandwich (apr. 260lbs) 75Hz-420Hz
tapped horns are mdf/osb 27Hz-75Hz
For the midbass horns I shaped a polysteren core and covered it with several layers of concrete (fibre mesh reinforced) inside and outside, apr. 3/4" thick.
It`s a DSP based system.
DIY turntable / CD transport -> DSP -> SPL Volume 8 -> TA3020 amps for subbass and midbass / 2A3 SET for mid/high

From one speaker builder to another...that is dedication. Hay, why not throw in some scroll horns from Inlowsound...?
