Finally getting around to ordering the parts and had a question related to power. Do I need two separate power supply or will a single 19.5v, 6A 90w laptop brick be enough for the power? Another question is related to keeping the gain @ 20db with support for 8 and 16ohm speakers. What values would I need to change to support that?
Thx

I think the single supply should work fine.
Gain is set with a single resistor...read on powerup...R5 on my board...details are in the datasheet...Gain settings also affect input impedance.
Finally got around to doing a comprehensive test of my DUG-1 dual PBTL boards. I did a quick sanity test run a while back, just to make sure they actually worked. This was literally my first time soldering surface-mount components. My soldering looks messy, but it doesn't seem to matter---the boards sound great. I am powering my pair with a Connex SMPS300RS I received as a gift. Voltage is 23V (trimmed down from the 24V stock). I first tested on my old set of DIY Overnight Sensation speakers, mainly because they have cheap drivers---just in case something goes horribly wrong, I don't want to blow up expensive speakers. After about 20 minutes of listening with zero issues, I went ahead and powered up my Salk Songtowers. Wow, they sound great! I'm currently using a modded YJBlue tpa3116 with the YuanJing 24V/5A SMPS. The DUG-1 PBTL boards with the Connex PSU sounds better, period.
All that's left is to put everything in a case; just need to find time to drill the holes. Oh, and also put a heatsink on the TPA chips. When powering the 8 ohm Overnight Sensations speakers, the IC didn't even get warm. Powering the 4 ohm Songtowers, I did feel the chip get warm, but that's all. I could hold my finger on it all day (presumably) without any discomfort at all.
Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

Serving up something tasty there, m_g!
Do I see thin layers of something black (rubber?) under your inductors?

More going on than I can recognize, but cool stuff!

Must be satisfying to sit back and enjoy the break-in with PF.

It's funny you said that, because I sent the pics to my parents, and my dad made the exact same comment. (He doesn't read DIYAudio.) That's my "soldering plate", literally just a paper plate. My "workbench" is actually our dining room table, so I use the plate in an attempt to minimize mess.

To which picture are you referring? Anyway, assuming you're talking about the DUG tpa3116 boards, the answer is no, nothing under the inductors. Maybe just misleading shadows in the pictures?
OK - must be a sneaky shadow. Circled below in red.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

More a reflection of the coil in the shiny surface of the board.
Three-layer cake served up on a plate:

Where are folks buying Coilcraft SER2918H-103KL from? I cannot seem to locate them on Digikey or Mouser.
