Slewmaster - CFA vs. VFA "Rumble"

I'll post Valerie's caps , A 500VA chip-amp trafo (35-0-35) and my
4 badger boards ( 2 nearly fully stuffed).

It would be waste to scrap the fully stuffed Badgers (they are good amps, too)
to make the Slews.

I only tried the DIYA "swap meet" twice. The genesis trafo's and the Genesis
case sold nearly instantly. This time I want PARTS !! 😀

In the end ... 2 big slew's for stereo , one big slew for my hungry sub , 2
mini-slew's for the kids , leaving one big slew for testing. 6 total will
be built.
I would not want to rely on donated parts totally - If I can "spread" the
caps/trafo/and Badgers to the right (fanatics) , all will benefit.

We can work a trade for some Badgers. Preferably unstuffed if you have empty boards. I'll send you all the semis you need. I'm still trying to locate a couple of the odd input board semis though.

PM me ... I have 2 unstuffed , 2 stuffed. The stuffed ones have the
discontinued (or hard to find) "F" gain 3503/1381 and very low use
caps/discretes.

Hurry ,I have the photo's for the swap-meet.

Kypton-V update

Added "Csp1 and Csp2" .. the 2 C-B 15-22pF capacitors to keep the
OPS happy. Thanks you Still4given !! 😎

Added R41 on the servo , to keep the settling time down (symasui "fix").

Full fixed/updated "V" package attached below.

Shown (below 1) are the "V" changes.

(below 2) is a way to lower the
symasui settling time even further. Lower the LTP current to 2ma
while increasing R14/15 to 1K. Non-servo offset is @ 1V.

I did notice if you swap a dissimilar model for the LTP devices , the Sym is
quite sensitive and offsets far more than other designs (match em' 😀).

Can the same updates (Csp1 and Csp2) be applied to Kypton C? Will they do any good? If yes can you post updated pcb layout file?

Sure wish I could ...

I wondered why my new trafo would be intermittent. It worked once ,, did
not work tonight hooking it up to some caps.

Digikey or UPS ... not sure who is worse - they screwed up royally !
I am REALLY upset. 😡

So excited about the powersupply I did not see (below) . Those cretin's ,
it would of taken a 10ft drop onto a sharp object to do this.🙁

Those windings must of been sheared together when I initially tested it.

It lit my bulb from the secondary .
I almost totally machined my case today - handles , trafo , the feet the
chinese forgot to drill holes for.

Hooked up some snap-in PCB cap banks to see what rails I'd get -NOTHING.
1 primary was open , 1 would read when I pushed on the trafo.

Funny thing , the shipping box had no hole in it. They must of "forked it"
in the full pallet (before shipping). 😡

I never had a mouser order like this.

WOW 😱
Never saw anything like this...
Would it be possible to... exchange it?

This might be something to "work" to our benefit. I'll send the whole damn
order back.

I know they get at least 10-15% of business from prototype developers
and DIY hobbyists. I'll use THAT fact.

Mouser has sent me heavy stuff (trafos) separate from my passives -they
know how to ship. Having the trafo in the same box with the caps
exposed the caps to the onslaught of the heavy trafo - dumbar$es !!

It's your purchase ,vzaichenko. I might be a little more adept at dealing
with "redneck" Digikey. Let me try first - I'll PM you with the results.

PS - I tested EvenC's trafo and the digikey caps (tested everything).
they all work (even the slightly dented cap.
A shame with a nearly 400$ order - should not have to do this.
Typed this in 92 sec....

I had a job that required I ship a lot of stuff. at the time I would call ups to a
arrange the pick ups. They always asked if I understood the packing guidelines and I would answer yes. One time I actually checked out the guidelines. One of them is the box should be OK for a five foot fall on its corner....

I bet it was insured. this stuff happens all the time, especially with heavy stuff. Likely the shipper will just refund it without question. I'm sure when you talk Digikey tomorrow they will make it right.

The poor shipper ! I don't think it was UPS. Digikey "forked it" and then
did not pack it properly. Looks like a sharp Chisel like object hit it (keen was right - forktruck).
