An experimental all DHT SE amplifier. It uses the 102d (modern) as input, the 2a3 as interstage coupled driver for the low powered 845 on fixed bias. Still working on it and will be tweaking the OP of the 102d. Still needs a mains switch to be fitted! The two LEDs at the front of the panel are for bias failure just in case...

Special thanks to Kevinkr whose help and input got this project going. Also to Andy Evans whose work and ideas got me on the path to this experiment. Thanks again guys. Now for debugging and tuning...

Jer, that looks absolutely fabulous! Design and aesthetics absolutely top notch, and I would bet it sounds as good as it looks.. :D

Hi Phil,

In my tests so far, with Kef Iq30 speakers (89db) placed side by side to the amp, playing all types of music at around (max) 55-65db average SPL, no microphonics detected. (At this level, the table and chassis were passing vibration on top of the pressure waves from the speakers 1/2 a foot from the 102d. All the Tx are well behaved so far and non buzzing.). Neither are the 102d excited by tapping on the chassis or the glass directly. In this department, so far so good. Mind you, they are near brand new and may yet develop issues once they've been 'cooked' more.

Both the 102d and 2a3 have there sockets mounted on isolation plates. They have 4m mounting holes with 3m grommets (plus a further rubber washer underneath) to isolate the fixing bolt and chassis from the plate and socket.

"Black Lace" all Ozzie tube 6V6 power amp - old school

From Ozzie Miniwatt tubes which resided under a house for 40 years I built this old school power amp. Carbon film resistors and PIO caps on a Mirbue wooden base makes this build real nice. And the sound; clean, fast and etched. The 6V6 (Black Glass) are in UL mode. Driver tube is 6SN7 and rec. tube 5U4.
