You mean 'aerial ping pong' ?. 😉I only play Australian Rules golf.
Dan.
xray it, to see if it´s not just re-packaged thingGuys what you thinks about super-expensive capacitor like Duelund
Worth it or are a snake oil ?
this seems popular these days
edit-got a half inch wide sticky copper foil, maybe make one myself
what i really would like to see on all those fancy audiophoolery components, it to measure and compare with real deal rlc meter
to normal stuff
not with common grandfathers rlc bridge ..

did you had a plain carbon fibrous fabric in your hands? i worked with them, also with the glass types, various roughnessesNot all carbon fibres can be easily seen with the naked eye.
small piece of fibers glow nice under low DC😎
Latex
Latex dressed resistors would be slippery-stream devices, doesn't count.
There are a few common DIP keywords to listen for, re-assuring words, words like Nano, Quantum, Science, Expensive.
If they say these words, particularly with repetition, it means they are going to insult your intelligence and kill your wallet.
(quoting the immortal mr Kenny Everett : it's all done in the best possible taste)
🙄 Who would want to copy a fraud product that does nothing for the audio?
Are you kidding?? It's purpose is not in audio. It's purpose is to make money! 😉

Here's where Scott and I disagree. I think you're too smart to actually believe the stuff you're slinging. He's still undecided ("the $64,000 question"), though I suspect he'd come down on my side if forced to choose.
Or it is a close, but misleading definition to convey what is necessary to the public.
I feel the situation with this wonder device has taken a turn towards intellect, personal integrity, technical expertise trafficking.

How little you know, Jan.
John!
First I congratulate you on your new SR1.
Now I have to congratulate you again: you made a factual statement! That must be the first in, ohh, a decade?
Jan
You know Jan, that is a bit of an insult. Why do you think that you have a right to say this?
How so there is a change to the vessel wood from aluminum 2. change the rubber to bee's wax and 3. adding a layer of dielectric rice paper. I am not saying it is an improvement from the original but rather 3 real changes to the make up of the cap . The wood in the cap is hygroscopic as is the rice paper even if it is sealed after building it still has water in its make up . The snake oil comes in if this is done any where outside of desert with humidity above 10%.Some snake oil specifically for diy:

It would be very educational for those impressed by people with academic credentials, to see how the latter actually behave towards others at times when they disagree with their views ... 🙂

Remember the cheating scandals? I actually saw the worst when first broadcast. We all believed that guy was so smart he knew all those answers.
I was slightly too young to remember, about 3 when it went off the air. If nothing else, it left behind a rich metaphor, albeit one that has been shrunk by inflation.
I got it!, I got it, ...You have a single nanotube encased in that small hollow multi-thousand dollar cylinder you sell....right? You can't see it of course, but it IS there.
What is it? ...a tunneling Electron microscope to see it?
"My nanotube is broken!"...........curiously it still works......

Maybe they're made of Buckminster/Fullerines. Slippery enough for the slipstreams? Especially if the Buckyballs are licked...

If this really made a significant difference , it wouldn't be because of the wood. I think it must be because the capacitor foil was 'tightly wrapped' and sealed that way. Someone should do that on another cap and use a non metallic case ( like a plastic tube ..or glass....etc.? ). Ensure that the cap is very tightly wrapped in silk or other non conductive film....maybe mylar. Wax is easy to use but epoxy should be OK too !
It would be an interesting experiment!😉
