It sounds to me that SY is concerned that K&D might be running the output of the Impasse into an F-5. The Impasse was designed with a LOT of gain, for the F-4 which has NO gain stage, The F-5 does have gain so the combo with the Impasse has hellagain!

Other people, myself included, have been hinting (unsuccessfully) to encourage you to remove the B1 from your signal path. So I will come out and say it plainly, get the B1 out of the signal path, it is likely your problem, and if it isn't, it's still in the way of proper analysis of the ImPasse.



Agreed, but it does add noise. And the ImPasse has so much gain that the B1 noise is being amplified quite handily.

Yep, it is being tested into an F5 but is ultimately going to be used with my Aleph 4, just to boost the gain a bit.

Well, at OshPark i can make minimum 3, il keep 2 and one goes to SY - and gonna cost me $200!

Second option is to make in China! 2mm thick boards with double thickness copper and hasp gold finish is about $320 for 10 pieces - more boards even better price cuz they charge about $120 for setup!

Will see, for me is important to be sure there is no error on board!

I mat change tubes sockets footprint for common models we can buy here in US, and what i saw, this sockets wont fit in tube library i got!

Also i make my resistor footprints to fit KOA, and Panasonic resistors !

BTW chassis ground dont have any wire pads is connected to mounting screw holes !

Capacitors footprints are also my design for Mundorf MKP or EVO sizes!

Maybe you know about Advanced Circuits, 4pcb.com. I've been having them make my boards for many years now. You can order small quantities of 1oz, 2 layer pcbs of up to 60 square inches for $33 each, plus about $20 per order shipping/handling. Four layer boards are similar, but are $66 each. Very good quality, consistently, with no serup charges for this type of order. There's a 4 piece minimum unless you're a student, and then you can order as few as one piece.

So ? It is similar and always will be, there is just a few parts geez! I ask You "luvdunhill" if you have PCBs for sale, and after couple days you answer asking $50 (without PSU) right? I asked what is size of PCB and if You have PSU PCB too - You never answer, so i decide to make my own boards for same money you asking for - even better PCB quality! Now i read whole forum and Text from AudioXpress and yes I see 2 boards posted in this forum and get there idea!

Now, i never make a single dime on this forum and i post in this forum, not a "group buys" or something, and i dont know wha is the problem ...

How ever - will make a new layout just to stop You guys accusing me of something ...
