I suppose Jack will add a low ohmic cryogenically treated resistor, encase them in "quantum heatshrink' and sell them for $500 a piece, after finishing his treatise on the subliminal effects of audiophiles hearing the words "quantum" and " cryogenically" in the same sentence.

Instead of calling it foolish, maybe you should buy a Hi-Fi Tuning Supreme fuse and see for yourself.
You might also want to try a standard ceramic fuse instead of a glass fuse, and compare all three.
Try them on source and low power gear.
Acme Audio makes some lower priced fuses, but still expensive by comparison. $12-$15 each.
I've taken this path and the only sad thing about it is that fuses sometimes pop.
Theres no going back to standard fuses once using audiophile fuses.

I will resist your tempting offer of the proliferation of the absurd, UNTIL there is proof that something like this DOES make a distinguishable difference. Some anecdotal opinion about "sound stage" and the like is not evidence and never will be.
"Source"? The Mac Book doesn't have a fuse I can easily change, even if I wanted to (which is extremely unlikely).
If there were things I would change, it is the quality of the drivers and items where the money spent goes towards a known improvement.

Its not absurd. What absurd is that you are dismissing the simplest tweak any audiophile can perform that directly affects electronics in seconds. It doesn't have to be a $80 fuse, try a $12 audiophole fuse. Try a $3 ceramic fuse.

It's not the ears that's the problem. It's the embarrassingly unreliable brain they're connected to, which is why there's virtually nothing that doesn't "work" for some number of people.
Using the "trust your ears" rule, placing photographs of yourself in your freezer will make your system sound better. Have you tried putting photographs of yourself in your freezer?
