Got the bastard!
Along the edge of one of the smt caps was the tiniest little thread of solder, it was so small i thought it was just the shiny edge of the cap. All working now, thanks guys.
Of course I had to remove three caps to find the bad one and they didn't come off without a fight. Does anyone have 3 spare smt caps?
I have a few sets of J113's, if anyone wants a set please pm me, first come first served.

Cool 🙂 good work!
And to top it all off I found 3 spare 603's in my capacitor box so now it's all back to normal.
And a deep sigh of relief in the principality of YNWOAN, as sq is building this Paradise for me (a lovely job he is doing too) 🙂.
All the BC327 inboard... now the 337 🙂
Quote: "The PSU JFets should be J113 and the Rgs for these is 1K (replace the 3.3K resitors)" So I will use those also.
At least I need to use NPN power amp (D44H11) and PNP power amp (D45H11)
The toshibas should be even better.... but I do not recall their "names" someone ?
PS: For cart load I choose Vishay accutrim 1280G 5k trimmers... even better than WW counterparts.

I am very happy that you like the sound.
'Like'. Oh no, we don't like the sound we absolutely adore the sound...
Yes, we do indeed love the sound. In fact, the Paradise is one of the most remarkable bits of electronics I have ever heard!
Sorry, do you mean me?
If yes, then I use rebuilt Yamaha NS-1000Ms; they are positioned away from room boundaries but I do use a Rel Stadium sub to fill in the very bottom end (set to its lowest crossover frequency).

Wow, that is one of the best speakers and yes, the bass of those alone is quite dry.
I could make a better crossover though.

Well you already rebuild it and i assume you also tuned in the crossover.
The original design was not ideal.

Yes, the crossover has been completely rebuilt - it is in the external box behinfd the speaker. Also, extra bracing has been built in to the cabinet and the back of the bass driver is pre-tensioned against it. In fact, quite a lot has been done to them 🙂.
cool, i found this :
Yamaha-NS1000
The only problem i see is the tweeter.
It falls off at 12kHz and could benefit from a super tweeter, not that i hear much up there these days.

A super-tweeter is on my 'to do' list - outputs for one have been included on the back of the speaker in readiness 🙂.
OK, fine, you know what you do.
Would love to hear that yamaha after all this years.
Had one pair in the studio when they came out.

I also liked the NS500.

I would say that the Yamahas where the only Japanese speakers i liked at that time.
Somehow the big Sonys and Technics did not ring a bell with me although i was struck by the "flat" driver technology.
