I bought mine from here:
Wingham Wool Work - Wool for spinning, felting and dyeing. - Wingham Wool Work
No idea what exactly Bailey's longhair wool is, I've ended up buying white Massam tops with an individual fibre length of 18-38cm. It is the longest they had back then and I wasn't the first to buy from them to stuff speakers.
It was the cheapest source I could find by a margin.

Bailey's long hair wool appears to have obtained mythical signifiance, particularly in Europe, for no good reason. It has no significant advantage over rather more commonly available materials; Monacor's MDM3, fiberglass, ultratouch insulation, acoustastuff, BAF wadding or similar all do a perfectly good job. There are minor differences in the damping behaviour of all materials of course, and more or less subtly different quantities are required (see Augspurger's AES paper 'Loudspeakers on Damped Pipes' for some examples), which isn't a big deal.
That's what I heard.
The wool I bought appealed to me because it was a completely natural and local product and it was by far the cheapest option.

Word of mouth is a powerful thing.
If you are determined to get wool as a stuffing material, may I suggest Marino wool. That's not a brand name, but instead, a type of wool that is the finest denier (i.e. diameter) and most expensive wool. Merino - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. It looks like they carry it at the site linked in post #2.
Mine and other stuffing studies have shown finer fibers yield lower Fc and flatter impedance plots in closed box systems.

You could get better if you look beyond sheep.
Merino is 21-25microns, vicuña 12.8 microns thick. A bit pricey though.
And no Iam not determined to use wool, it just worked out the cheapest.

read more about it. Vicuña - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It looks to me like finding raw Vicuna wool is near impossible considering it's low production rate and use in much more profitable high end clothing.
Or just take the easy way out, forget about wool & just use one of the perfectly good alternatives that are easily available.
To stuff the sealed enclosure for an UM18-22 subwoofer I've just ordered 5Kg of Merino wool from Amazon. Just because it is natural and pretty. I'll post again with the results after I put everything together. (clubs are closed and I miss dancing in front of a subwoofer)
... and with the synthetic alternatives you don't need to lose sleep over the thought of those little moths getting in and out through the port tube...

Some people on this forum have used old wool sweaters or other knitted wool clothing. Others have used wool laundry dryer balls. Just some ideas
Long Haired Herdwick Sheep's Wool is available from this supplier: Loudspeaker damping materials for DIY speaker kits.
100% soft wool felt is the best I've ever used. But that was for vented cabinets, not sealed. These days I used the Ultratouch cotton/denim insulation. I haven't compared it to wool felt.
For what it is worth, rock wool or fibre glass confined within a pillow case with a tight weave, that seems to be effective.

I used wool insulation, you need to knock the dust out of it, cheap and I found far better than anything else I tried.
And just where does one find wool insulation? I've never seen it. Or do you mean the under carpet pad?
We get it from The Wooly Shepherd!
