Come to Greece, I will give you one, we are near.😀
Dear Salas,
since ever I know you're very nice guy...
So, it's no reason to be more responsible from the others... 😉
Thank you very much for your invitation, but I love "summer Greece" much more than "late autumn" one... 😉
Do you have any other idea? Maybe we'll see the day when "more responsible" will take time for us... 😉
Who knows?
Regards,
Thank you, I'll try...PM Tea Bag is an idea, he is just finishing a GB round.
Good morning,
I am currently building a DCB1, but really do need to use output caps as my LFD amp is DC-coupled with no servo.
I saw a drawing somewhere of a recommended configuration, something like a 2.2uf cap with a 1M resistor to ground? If someone could advise on this that'd be great.
Best regards,
Neil

You just have to use the capacitor inline with the signal output of the DCB1 board to the output RCA's central pin. From its pin to its ring solder 1 Meg resistor.
You are welcome. What is the input impedance of your LFD by the way, not to end up with a wrong expensive capacitor pair that is to prevent.

47k, so thinking 2.2uf is good?
Enough, but not very deep for minimal phase turn, 4.7uF even deeper.
Thanks again Salas, 4.7uf it is (wallet says ouch!).
What type you got in mind?
At the moment looking at:
Obbligato Premium Gold
...some type of Mundorf Supreme
Good choices.
If you really got space in the box, I would recommend 4 monstrous 2.2uF Russian capacitors to make two 4.4uF pairs bypassing each pair with 0.1uF monstrous Russian Teflon. I believe they exceed the German silver in oil type even when in that config for far far less.
2 2uF 250V PIO Capacitors K75 10 Lot of 4 Hi End | eBay
0 1uF 5 600V Teflon Hi End Capacitors ft 3 Lot of 2 | eBay
Maybe ask for combined shipping fees when coming from the same vendor.

Have you ever heard the Mundorf ZN ? My prefered after DCA Cast.
I have experience with the SCR tin foil if its comparable, and I find it dark and heavy. I also used supreme, supreme silver in oil and supreme silver gold oil.

Niko do you mind explaining what does the 1M resistor do? Is it necessary?
Also, what would the above diagrams look for 220K input imp? I have also used 2,2uF ones
Salas,
I have settled on ~90ms as the RC for the DC blocking filter in my systems.
I have presented this many times and I get repeatedly told that I cannot possibly hear any difference in bass response with the filter set this low.
You are proposing 4u5F and 47k for an RC of >210ms which is more than an octave lower.
What do you find when using this frequency for your power amp roll off ?

I see 600B as the voltage rating of the teflon cap.
What does the B mean? AC or DC?
B is what Greeks and Russians have for V pronounced the same. Means Volt. AC or DC don't know.
