I am playing wirh 50 W Class T amps at the moment setup in dual mono runing on a lab power supply. These work quite well but are just toys compared Nelson's amps.
Thanks for replying. No doubt your toys have thereapeutic value. They lower blood pressure, they lower day to day stress and increase your longevity. Win win situation.I am playing wirh 50 W Class T amps at the moment setup in dual mono runing on a lab power supply. These work quite well but are just toys compared Nelson's amps.
whatever it is , it's certainly PSUeless one

Frequency plot of Seas on 1m baffle.
EDIT: The baffle is 1 m wide x 80 cm tall with 20 cm wings.
The centre of the speaker is 17cm above ground height
Just to make it easier to compare. I have reposted this result

PLEASE,
don't show a measurement graph with a picture, that does not illustrate the situation when measuring. The illustration will always dominate the graph in our visual reception - inevitably leading to wrong conclusions.
It would have been better to just show the graphs and giving the details of placement (of driver on baffle and baffle in room) by words.

so, open baffle with driver at bottom = floor enhanced bass but high frequencies at level of feet not your ears. open baffle with driver at top = rolled off bass. No win.
Maybe people should stop looking at fancy photos and start listening to music.PLEASE,

I am a believer that a picture tells a thousand words so I think it is important to show pictures.
Besides I have to keep Zen Mod happy. He likes looking at porn.

That is one way of looking at it, you could always angle (like I have) the baffle so the ear is on axis at the seating position or you mignt decide to go the FAST route. Anyway I have many more ideas to explore yet. This is just an introduction.
Hey Norman. Can you tell me what the dimensions of the PHY OB is? I am thinking of building it for comparison.
If I increase the height of the baffle above the driver like on phy OB or Nelson's Slot Loaded OB then I am reasonably sure that the bass roll off will not be as bad with woofer at ear height.open baffle with driver at top = rolled off bass. No win.

well, 66" tall, 16" wide center, and about 24" deep wings (on piano hinges).
Norman
Initially I will go with 8 feet tall x 16" baffle width x 24" wings then cut it down to 66" tall
here is a video of that open baffle in action with phy drivers.
double walls with sand filling.
go to 6:30 then watch and listen.

I'd love to know what song they are listening to...............
were I not going in the direction I am, I was going to put the an15's on that hinged open baffle.

EDIT: I couldn't do 8 feet high. The tallest I could fit in my small car was 6 feet, so it is 6 feet high with 40cm wide centre baffle with 50cm wings.
Centre of driver is 95cm above ground
