The inner wedge/baffle may or may not work....with the angle at 35 degrees.

The measurements reduce the inner horn by a few cm's....so I'll remove part of the 'lid' of the wedge section.

The next test is to create two matching wedges and have the speakers firing outwards.

The blue horns arrived today....and they're all hooked up and sounding..............FANTASTIC.......!!!!!!

In 10 years of DIY audio, there's a few moments of sheer joy....tonight was one.

Will muck around with placement of horns....and I have to build a frame...and possibly redirect the mid bass units to fire directly into the room.

But first impressions are wonderful....the sound is BIG...detailed, nuanced...no colouration. I'm totally stoked.

I'm also very lucky that the Bob Crites 500/5,000 xover has worked out to perfection. The balance is very good indeed.

Now, I'll start my tapped horns...but the mid-bass horns are performing so well...it's hard to imagine what more I need.

I also love the colour and finish of the horns...sort of industrial looking...but Mrs is very happy too.

The Selenium drivers rock...wonderful detail and attack. Not sure if they need run-in though.

More to follow.

very nice indeed. I never heard a stereo-lab Horn but in my vision an artificial stone horn (Solid, dense...) will sound good as hell 😀 I just couldn't have them 🙁 I envy you
be careful about your tube microphonics when you put them on those horn 😉

Why can't you have them? For cheaper option, have you looked at Azura?

about a month ago I added stereo-lab horns (exactly what you got 1000hz and 250hz) to cart and wanted to checkout but they mailed me "Sorry we can't ship order to Iran" 🙁🙁🙁 I think I can manage to build the horns with this money 🙄 I have to find the best way. for now CNCed MDF slice is the best bet

What about Azura from here in Australia? Good prices.

You'll have your work cut out CNC'ing and turning the wood horns...although, I was very close to doing that myself.

My all-time favourite pic of a large wooden horn is from Jeff Jackson, Eleven Horns. Expensive and very heavy...but what a look. See pics.

Another option is the mob from Poland....Autotech.
