I checked, the latest is USA. It's gone up since late January. our postal system is going bust! I noted it went up more international then domestic.
small priority box, sub 4 lbs 16.95 international (1.8kg)
medium box, sub 20 lbs 46.95, and large box, max 20lbs 60.95 (9kg)
same as here🙂 but we have max weight of 30 or 35Kg.
True,
Toroids will be made in india. I will search thru digikey
Let me find out.
Thanks

CDE 381LX Caps
If anyone is looking there is a guy in CA with a few hundred 50V 15,000uF caps. He is selling them for $3ea on ebay but is willing to deal. I bought 32 and they look great. PM me for his email or just look him up on ebay.

Components for F5
*Moderator note: Steve has asked that you see post #94 for an updated list so the link has been removed from this post.
Hi
I have spent hours comparing the technical specs and prices of components for my F5 project. I have attached a copy of my bill of materials to this post which maybe of interest to others who are starting out like I am.
Can I ask for members views on PSU caps? On the RS components site I have the choice of a Vishay 101 PHR, 15,000uf cap or a BHC ALS30, the BHC has a higher ripple and leakage current than the Vishay and a longer life. Both similar prices. Based on the datasheets which one should I go for?

higher ripple current is better
higher leakage current is worse
you can't do wrong with any of these two brands

not over 80lbs !!!!!!!!!!Yes, USA priority Mail has fixed rate international shipping.
"if it fits, it ships" of course unless it weights too much. But generally you can get a decent amount of weight in those boxes.
how about using a panel mount pot in front or back of the chassis? for easy adjustment🙂

You'd still need a way to measure voltage across the resistors, in order to set bias. For measuring dc offset you could still use the output binding posts. Maybe you can use 4 extra binding posts to that end. Per channel that is.how about using a panel mount pot in front or back of the chassis? for easy adjustment🙂

P3 has nothing to do with bias or DC offset🙂
I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about P1 and P2.P3 has nothing to do with bias or DC offset🙂
Just yesterday I had to re-bias my F5 for the summer period. Heatsink temperature was around 70 Cº !! I had to bias it to around .350mV on each resistor (instead of the "default" 0.600mV) in order to keep the heatsinks below 60 ºC. Madrid's peak temperatures may easily reach 40ºC 😱

The pot P3 idea is nice... Especially if there is no space for it on the board.
Otherwise, the Bourns 3296P should be nice too. Depending on how you mount the boards though...
By the way, if heat is not a problem, what is considered the max bias that the 3W stock components can handle?

Heat is always a problem !
A resistor should not be loaded to more than 50% of it's power capability, for 3W and 0R47 that amounts to ~1.75A
