Custom Centre Speaker Stand - A big one!

My centre speaker (Paradigm C290) is currently sitting in front of my TV (see pic). This works fine providing that I am sitting a few metres away from the TV. My wife hasn't been too happy with the situation, but has lived with it for a while. With our first baby on the way, she is concerned that it won't be able to see the TV if he/she was sitting on the floor in front of it.

I thought about wall mounting the TV, but it would sit too high for comfort. The other alternative is to build a custom stand or wall mount the centre speaker. My preference at this stage would be to build a custom stand from hardwood.. something heavy and very solid, with a large base and either 1 or 2 90x90mm posts attached to a 20 degree angle mounting piece at the top. I would place this behind the TV and cabinet. It would need to be close to 1800mm high.. I haven't come across any designs that high. What would I need to think about before building it?

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I agree that the wires will need to be cleaned up too. They would be a great toy for a crawling bub.

I don't want to lift the TV any higher as I would need to have physio every week to correct my neck. The TV needs to come down in height and the centre speaker needs to move up or down. I wonder if I took the doors from the TV cabinet off and made some room inside the cabinet. Would this have any major impacts on SQ?
