Same here and I can't say that I'm not getting frustrated.
If there is a disagreement between author and publisher over content or form then how can there be a Kindle edition for sale? If there is something else going on, then why don't they offer a significant discount on the Kindle edition for all the people who have had this printed book ordered for upwards of three months?
This is not a first edition! This is a fourth edition. The book has had its rough edges for more than a decade. Get it over with!

When I was living in Britain some 3 decades ago, everyone always asked and responded "why" to everything. Be patient and stand in the queue !
Popped in to WH Smiths today and apparently my order has been cancelled! I did not cancel it last time I asked. It's been over three months now, I guess the publisher is having real trouble.

I got an email from Amazon several weeks ago stating that my order from last November would be cancelled unless I logged in and updated my request. I did this, and got a reply that the publication date is now "unknown".
I did this dance with Amazon about a year ago when I ordered a vinyl record they had advertized for $8 which I knew had been long out of print. After several itterations of "your order will be automatically cancelled unless you reply within 5 days" they sent me a 180 gram collectors edition for $8!

I'm still waiting to hear about my Christmas present which this was meant to be.. 😀 I'll ask my wife if she has had another notification or not.
It's really unfortunate that Elsevier is run by a bunch of incompetents..
Since Amazon is now entering the publishing business I expect they could publish the next edition with a lot less fuss. (I expect their presence in this sphere means a good many of the remaining publishers will be bankrupt in a few years.)

I really do wonder what's going on. You'd think we'd have this "book printing and distribution" thing down by now.

I re-ordered with W.H.Smiths as my order was cancelled automatically after ninety days. I hope they manage to get a copy but I am not holding my breath.

I've given up, it's no longer on my must have list. I really hope Morgan finds another publisher for the next edition - this is inexcusable. Amazon canceled my order as well. I'll try again next year, or better yet get a friend in the UK where there is limited availability pick me up a copy...

I figure by now it must be making quite a dent in his royalty payments unless he got it all as an advance prior to writing this edition. I'm really disappointed because by all accounts this edition is a worthy successor to the previous editions, but we need to be able to get our hands on it. 🙁
Barnes & Noble has yet to cancel my order even though it's been on order since 18 DECEMBER! I'm wondering if it may be worth canceling it on my end and ordering the 3rd edition. I've been looking forward to this book for WAY too long. Anyone with the third edition think it's worth it?
It's quite worth it, hence the initial excitement about the newer edition. If it ever sees the light of day I'll likely upgrade even with the high cost just for a new chapter or two.
I have the first and third editions and they are substantially different. The third is excellent, the fourth I am told is a substantially different work than the third so should also be worth having once it finally appears. I figure mid year if we are very lucky, but I wasn't really joking when I said I would probably wait until next year..

Just installed Kindle for PC on my laptop and am thinking about purchasing the Kindle version which is available..
