I think some people have forgotten that this is a forum and as such a place for debate. Science progresses through the advancement of ideas which are then subject to critical scrutiny. If some people are saying this is unnacceptable, I find this suprising, recorded sound was brought to you by solid science, not faith or magic. So do they whant scientific thinking to be abandoned to make them more comfortable?
Furthermore I think the word zealot accurately desribes someone with a fixed belief they are unwilling to scrutinise.

Its about micro turbulation for speakers and the speed of sound, reynolds numbers etc etc... pure science, not fiction or woo woo... hard core ****.
Read this link.
AccessScience | Research Update | Low-speed aircraft
Low speed and high speed aircraft use this all the time. as early as the the 1930's turbulation was used to extend the L/D of aircraft or the reduce the stall speed. Model aircraft use it too. Lots of experiments using models in the 30's... with and without wind tunnels.
Google: Frank Ziac, models and turbulation
Wind generation blades use it.
Low speed airfoil testing at the university of Illinois. Selig and Donavan (friends)
Full size gilders use a thing called "micro turbulation"
Speaker are high speed machines that that are in a constant state of energy transfer. Anything that can help the release/transfer is good.
There.

Good link to full size turbulation of gliders...
Remember this is slooow speed. 50 -120 mph. Things at speaker speed is a whole new math problem...
But if you can see what is happening a sloww speed, one Might be able to come up with a clue as to what is happening at speaker speed.
Maybe Bud has worked out the math for the physics that is going on.
For me however,
I like what I hear. and that for me, is all I need.
Love etc

Speakers atre not high speed machines, there is no wind rushing past them that I am aware of, they do emit sound at the speed of sound but that's not the same thing at all, sounds like your'e just trying to throw up a smokesceen. explain the formula and it's relevance to loudspeaker cabinets other then those strapped externally to aircraft.
Absolutely not the same, the driver diaphragm IS moving at high speed, though I'm not certain of their claims either, the big firms have highly paid people dreaming up BS for them, I have a couple of pairs of very expensive speakers and a pair of Fostex 206e's in BLH. I prefer the Fostex's, I made the cabinets myself and we all know what the drivers cost.

And this hits the nail on the head, you are your own judge to the sound that you (or me) likes best. I would rather spend my time with building something new
that may or may not be perfect in a scientific sense, but MY ears like it!
a thought from a newbie!😀

Speed of sound is 600 plus,or minus
Driver moves less than the seep of sound
The difference between the two a loss of some percentage.
Reduce the the cone weight gain some percentage back.
More later...

sure it does...
how fast does a speaker cone move at say 1000 cycles per sec...
500 times to the front 500 times to the back...

What is the Difference between Speed, Velocity and Acceleration?
www.edinformatics.com/math_science/acceleration.htmSpeed is the rate of motion, or the rate of change of position. It is expressed as distance moved (d) per unit of time(t). Speed is a scalar quantity with dimensions ...

Thinking on a little (because I'm enjoying this even if it's daft), taking you're figures and applying them to my Fostex's, the maximum cone excursion is only 1mm one way or the other which means that in that second they have travelled a total of 1000mm, 1m/s is not really very fast is it? Let me also remind you that this thread is actually about enhancing the baffle which is stationary unless you're experiencing an earthquake or other catastrophic event.
Does post 93 mean you've decided you're talking about Speed, Velocity and Acceleration then? What happened to frequency?
I think it's appropriate that Hans Jenny dedicated his book to Rudolph Steiner.
I hope that no-one is suggesting that the air-flow across the dots is similar to the air-flow across an airplane wing (or sailboat sail) or the air-flow in and out of the B&W Flowport.

I believe that's 1000 times forward and 1000 times backwards in 1 second.
There is no "flow" of air across the baffle it is just a compression & rarefication of air molecules! This renders your analogy moot.
