The stupid plastic roof of the boat was vibrating Like a mofo and sounded terrible but the subs deff did a good job!! Shook the entire boat to pieces and didnt even break a sweat. I got the xti 4000 to clip once then turned it right down, but it was bass heavy techno (I'm guessing a sub 40hz bassline)
I was running the xti 4000 in bridgemode, with the limiters at -3db
I would love to have 4 of these, but transportation is a problem as it is, I had to rent a Uhaul van. Maybe I'll grab a small trailer and then I'll think about multiples! 😀

So are they a bigger louder ss15? Or did you get the 15hz lower extension you were looking for?

I have two ss15's loaded with 3015LF's, and they can't even compare to the two TH-18's....
I don't have any measurement equipment, so I can't say the exact extension, but they deff. go lower than the ss15's without a doubt!

You should do a comparitive measurement. Set up a pair and run a sweep in REW and then swap in the other(less efficient) set and sweep again without making any adjustments. Any mic and sound card will do as long as you are not overdoing it with the levels. I've no doubt the 18's can move more air but I am currious about the difference in response. The SS15 is a known quantity so it should be very enlightning.
There is a relative cheap NEO alternative for the Xoc-1 (and other TH's), the new Monacor SP-18/1000HP that can be found for around 300Euro's. Has an Xmax of 9,5mm and a strong motor (BL=27,2Tm) and a total weight of 6,1Kg.
300 Euro = $417 USD (I just calculated it, so that price is as of right now)
In that price range, there are plenty of drivers, from B&C, 18 sound, RCF etc. So this just adds to the options for us US guys, but maybe for you guys over there it is sound choice!

I know, but all drivers are way more expensive in Europe... It is 75$ cheaper as your 18Sound for instance.
