Regards,
This looks like a fun build with good output. I'm curious to know if anyone has built one and taken real world measurements?
why are the 2 drivers mounted like this? why not both on one side?
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Remember the link I gave you, this is again a push-pull set up.why are the 2 drivers mounted like this? why not both on one side?
Both cones move at the same time in the same direction. So one of the drivers needs to be wired out of fase.so drivers are wired 'in phase' ? but function out of phase because of mounting 180* off axis?
thank you.

i picked the subs up REALLY cheap,
a little finish sanding/work and this will be the subwoofer for my new boom box build 😀

yes it sounds great,
not ive tested nothing.
the only math i did was *guess* that the cone area of a 6.5 is slightly less then half that of a 12.
so i divided all the numbers on the plans by 100 and multiplied that number by 42 (42%??)
my thinking is if the proportion of cone area to box physics is the same, i should get similar performance 😀
it definitely gets very low and is smooth in its delivery
thank you Petter Persson for the design 🙂

plans are on page 1 of this thread ...
Sorry, i meant for your mini version of the horn
The average Sd of a 6.5" cone is around 150cm sq, the average of a 12" is around 500cm sq, so that might throw off the frequency response a bit. Will be interesting to see it measured, nice work.
Sorry, i meant for your mini version of the horn
i arrived at my box calculations with some very basic math
i divided all the numbers on the plans by 100 and multiplied that number by 42 (42%??)
seems i was wrong though because it seems a 6.5 is closer to 1/3 not 1/2 the cone area of a 12?
ive scaled many designs like this over the years, find a box design i like, find a driver/s i want to use, and built something i believe might work.
ive had good results so far, i never measure anything and always get lots of bass and never built anything i didnt enjoy using.

So, you didn't use the push/pull of the original design?
Btw, that same 6.5" sub that is now $125 at partsexpress, was on sale for $35 just a couple months ago. Crazy how prices have gone so wonky there lately.

I couldnt get the driver in backwards, the magnet is quite deep and the space available (in my box) quite shallow,
i thought about spacers,
for about 0.002 seconds 😀
thank you Petter Persson

Cool build and welcome. Feels good to inspire others😀 What do you think it
sounds like? I mean you made your own horn since the drivers and expansion
are different. Was the folding easy to build?
