The problem with 6CX200Nd and similar drivers is strong ripple in frequency response caused by unterminated horn (look at frequency above 2khz). If I had to use this driver, I'd figure out a way to attach small baffle to the horn mouth.
Beyma's solution to this problem is to use 3khz crossover. IMO it defeats the purpose of using horn.

sorry, but what is HOM?
High order modes, a term introduced by Geddes, IIRC. It is essentially a catch all for any sound which does not follow the expansion. Geddes designs absorb them with foam.
I haven't read through this thread, but the SEAS coaxes, (LOKI kit) are quite nice, if rather expensive.

Hunt around the UK for some pre-loved Tannoy Saturn or 600 series dual concetrics. The KEFs would also be OK, and I think the base model KEF C-whatever was/is quite cheap.
SEAS make come 6.5" dual concentrics
How different are the SEAS C16N and L12RE Coaxials from the KEF Uni-Q?
The problem with 6CX200Nd and similar drivers .
B&C, Beyma and 18 Sound products often mirror each other.
8CX400F - High Output Coaxial Ferrite Transducer
Anyone use the Beyma/BMS coaxials above.
The Saturns come in 6". 8" and 10" sizes, ... D300 / 500 / 700 range... Finding a set of 15" Golds solved my dilemna.
Brett, where would one find these 6", 8" and 10" Tannoy drivers?
My primary interest in Coaxial drivers stems from the requirement to have the same speaker system for 2 (or 2.1) channel audio and 5.1/7.2 channel video.
This dictated that the system would need 2 tower speakers capable of operating from say 45Hz-20kHz, a sub or 2, and 3-5 smaller speakers for center and surround that had the same "voice" of the tower speaker. Hence the idea of using a Coaxial or widerange driver (to cover 200-20kHz) that would be the same across all 5/7 speakers. Something like these

Then I chanced upon a document by Frazier speakers that talked about teh advantages of coaxial speakers...

Here's an idea:
B&C 8CX21 (tweeter + midrange coaxial, crossover 2KHz where dispersion matches)
B&C 8BG51 (woofer crossed to midrange about 300Hz)
Box for 8CX21 is sealed @ 0.6 cu ft.
Box for 8BG51 is vented @ 0.6 cu ft tuned to 52 Hz. (-3dB is about 52Hz)
So, roughly 1.2 cu ft (34 liters) for the whole thing. Sensitivity of 8BG51 is 90 dB. The 8CX21 midrange is 92dB and the tweeter is 101dB, so some padding down is required.
You can use the 8CX21 by itself for surround speakers.

Thanks only having large 8" rear / center speakers might kill WAF. Hence I started with considering the Seas C16 driver but by many accounts it is not good VFM nor a very good driver. What about SEAS's L12RE/XFC?
Given WAF concerns I was looking at a smaller fullrange/widerange/coax/2way driver that would be used for the front, rear, and center but mated to a pair of woofers for the front channel like KEF's Blade.
Also this system will have some help in the bass (compact active subwoofer) so an F3 of 45 Hz will be more than enough for the front towers.
For my system as my (primary) mid driver I was considering
Vifa's Vifa NE149W
Jordan's JX92
Morel's ECW536
Seas W15LY / Seas W15CY
and for the tweeter
B&G Neo 3 PDR
Fountek Neo 3.0
Morel ET448
Seas T25CF001
It was way combos such as these that I was hoping to replace with a single/coax driver like SEAS C16, EMS's LB 6/7, Mark Audio, etc...
http://www.emspeaker.com/LB7_fiche_technique.pdf
mated to a 8-10" woofer such as these
Dayton RS270 (how do the Aurum Cantus woofers AC 250 compare to Dayton??)
SB Acoustics SB29 / SB 23 x 2
Morel CAW 938 x 2
Seas Prestige CA26RFX or CA22RNX x 2
Drivers for compact subwoofers (with passive radiators) like those made by Velodyne, Def Tech, etc...
Vifa NE265 or 315
Dayton Titanic
Wavecor SW270WA01
Seas L26ROY
In short.
Front towers 3 way using coax or 2 way or fullrange mated to a pair of woofers (side mounted)
center/rear speakers use the same coax/fullrange or 2way.

I've lived with the B&G for a few years now... exceptional driver... revealing AND smooth, in a word - musical.

I heard the B&G Neo 3, Neo 8 in a 3 way mated to a ScanSpeak woofer at a CES in Neuhaussen (near Frankfurt) over a decade ago. Really nice.
Anyone recommend a good 5" woofer to go with the Neo 3. Budget $150. What about the Vifa 149?
Alternate combos could be the JX92/Neo 3 (like Jim's JX92/G2Si combo)
or
SEAS W15 + T25 / Scan Speak 15W + D29 tweeters (Troles, Tony Gee, Zaph etc...all have small 2ays using these drivers).
A friend of mine is working on an all a similar Morel system (becuase he has access to Morel drivers are ridiculously cheap prices) using the CAW938, ECW538 and ET448.
My short list would be
a. nice 5" woofer with the Neo 3. Any information on the Vifa NE149?
b. JX92 with a ribbon like the G2Si or Neo 3
c. copy my friend and go all Morel.
The SEAS C16 is capable of excellent results but it takes a lot of work. Active use is do-able but implementing passive crossovers is very difficult with this driver.
The SEAS T18RE/XFCTV2 (http://www.hasaudio.co.nz/products_pdf/h1333_t18re_xfctv2_datasheet.pdf)
looks very promising and there is already a pretty good passive XO available, as used in the Loki kit.
Versatile range of cabinet options too, friendly TSP's.

I can only comment on what I have actually heard and can say that the B&G works beautifully with the seas A26RE4 (H1411). I am using them together in a ridiculously simple 2-way. - angled baffle for time alignment with the seas running full range (no choke) and a single cap on the B&G!

Do you mean CA26RE4?
The version I have is the H1316

No no active. I am looking at 3 way passive to be driven by a Simple HT/AV amplifier from say Marantz, Denon, or Onkyo.
Thanks Blackkshepe!
I never conisidered the T18 since it is shileded.
Instead I was initiall looking at the L12RE/XFC mated to 2 side mounted (push-push) 8" woofers like theCA22RNX or L22RNX/P. Since the woofers are only about 85db (under 300Hz) 2 woofers wouldf give me a sensivity of about 88db and would also help push the midbass (till say 200hz) of the L12 to the level of the tweeter. The only concern was the low-mids coming from either side of the cabinet instead of only from the front.

No sweat. The C16 is a big avoid for passive use.
If you can cope with a very low passive xover frequency, run the the T18 as low as you can get away with and cross to whatever you like. It has to be said that the T18 alone may meet LF output and power handling requirements in the reflex box... Only you can decide.
(Edit): Look at the KEF's also. In Australia they are more expensive than the SEAS anyway but they may be cheaper in your home market. They do look pretty good....

Neither the KEF or Seas are available in my home market. Whatever I got I need to import from the US, Europe, Singapore, etc..
Where could one find the KEF drivers cheap?

I wouldn't expect too much SPL from these speakers. The drivers are too small.
I mean the Seas Prestige A26RE4... I think it was intended as a Dynaco replacement.
I found mine at Madisound.
I would not run it full range. You'd still hear the cone breakup frequencies. I would put at least a first order LP @ 2KHz with a Zobel on it. Then you should get second order or so acoustic response.
I'm too lazy to read all the comments, so I don't know if someone already mentioned it, but have you considered coaxial in-wall speakers? There is a great article about Polk Audio MC 60 at 6moons.com
