My Big solid beech OB's 😛
Those look great! I just built a pair of small, closed-box two-ways. I used solid beech Ikea counter-top for the baffles. It looks suspiciously similar...
What drivers are you using in your subwoofers?

The subs are custom spec 12" PD SB30's (16mm xmax each way)
My beech is quite a lot more expensive than the Ikea worktops. I had a worktop mfr stave up my solid beech which is 300 year old heartwood. The mids are 8" Audax and the tweeters are Eminence ATP80's (a cracking combo)

Why did you space them so far apart?
dave
Should I have not? 😕![]()
Ideally at the crossover point drivers should be less than a 1/2 wavelength centre-to-centre althou that is often stretched to a w/l. With a 6" c-to-c (about as close as you are going to get an 8" and that tweeter) that means an XO <1150 Hz for the 1/2 w/l criterion.
I'd estimate your spacing at a minimum of 10" which would dicate an ~ XO <700 Hz

I've played around with the spacing and let's call it personal taste, the spacing is 11" tweeter to audax. You may be shocked to know that the xo points are 1700Hz and 4.4Khz!
Subs handle everything sub 1700 Hz.
Didn't see that coming did you

VERY pleased with the results

Which W26 is that? The FX002 or 001?
FX001, the FX002 is a Nextel coated paper cone.
Oh yes. thanks for reminding me. What box volume did you need for the FX001? The reason I ask is that I am looking to use this woofer in about 35 liters sealed to get about 45Hz (-3db / Qtc 0.8) and mate it to a W16NX001.
Sorry I can't give you an accurate answer, I went with a 3ft^3 ported enclosure tuned to 20hz.
Speakers:
CHR-70 monitors, 4L sealed with LCR series network (0.39mH, 2.7ohm, 680uF) for baffle step, trebel reduction and bass eq. F-3dB =75Hz (without crossover). Front is 18mm MDF sandwich of 6mm and 12mm to aproximatly get flush mounting.
2x 10" skytronic subs, uneq'ed f-3dB = 45Hz (free space). Aprox 40L each.
Amps:
Marantz PM151 (subs)
SONY TA-AX220 with increased rail capacitance (monitors)
Crossover:
box ontop of amps
4th order butterworth @ 90HZ, sub signal is equalised such that flat to 20Hz excursion limited to 93dB @ 20HZ
Misc:
towels to stop subs rattling around ontop of each other. Foam on left hand wall to absorb early reflection.
