I can only see an increase of about 10% in the last cap, none in the first one. (PSUD2)
Anyhow, ripple current is not huge in the last cap.

Power supply question:
The original pass article has 2 full bridges with the pos output of one connected to the neg of the other to give the ground.
I've often seen bipolar supplies built with just one bridge, the centre tap of the transformer forming the ground point.
Obviously there must be some advantage to using 2, but I don't know why, and can't find an answer in the searches.
Anyone care to enlighten me?
Ta kindly...
Fran

less grunge in star ground point , no possibility for xformer buzzing in case of slightest winding assymetry
simple , isn't it ?

Hi Guys, since we are on the topic of capacitors' current capability, I am wondering if the C2 and C3 of ZenV9 (the regulator portion) requires any high current capability?

well, been looking at Panasonic TS-UP, at Digikey
I calculated, and I calculated

I have ordered 16x Rifa
with can size 35x95mm, and just 4700uf/63V, man thats a monster cap
no customs, and free shipping, about the same cost

hey regi
whats a mobile ? 😀
I bought the RIFAs from audiocap.net, UK .... go to online shop
well, if "we" want them to supply the stuff, we also have to buy it 😉

Is a modern pacemaker, as long as you talk/type in it regularly, you remain online and kicking.
well, my only cell phone now is what you could call a Nokia "NOS"
and a friend even told me the model have become a cult thing now, old but indestructable
it is a fact that we as human beings are changing rapidly because everything comes easy just by pushing a bottom
but here it at least makes some sense 😎🙄

I see smoke! Jeez adjusting the voltage is tricky. Since I have overdriven the outputs enough to see smoke do I need to replace them?
When the magic smoke leaves electronics you normally can't put any more back in.
You probably need new output devices that still have their factory original smoke still in them.

That smoke is real scarce. New FET's are in order(PUN). Do you have multi-turn pots? If you don't, put 3-10 turn pots for adjustment and it won't be so sensitive.
