OK so nothing more than 6 feet but what has to be the minimum length for power cord? It can't be shorter than 1.5 Meters I guess?
Which AC sockets to use? Futuretech has everything from practical to fancy kinds of power plugs/IEC ranging from $40 to $ unaffordable. I will search around what Futuretech sockets people have used since they vary not just in price but also in the material of the socket (i.e. gold/silver/rhodium). I guess the quality of the cord matters more than the plug and IEC socket. It's going to be a hell of a cord for my DAC 8 with $180 in parts only. I will also change the built-in cord that powers up my Marantz CC47 CD player hopefully without ruining it.
Choosing the right speakers is the biggest challenge for me right now. As with many tube amps the MT-1 requires speakers with flat impedance curve. Higher sensitivity by itself just won't cut it. The most horrible thing you can do with tube amp is to hook it up with incompatible speakers, I mean you will never get to hear the magic, sensitivity and detail of tubes.

I would suggest making the power as short as reasonably possible.
For any connector type, my preference is copper with gold plating.
That includes AC plugs and IEC connectors.
People talk about speakers with a high sensitivity being required for a tube amp.
But this is misleading.
Tube Amps really like to see speakers that have mostly a real impedance
In other words, mostly resistive component and little inductance and capacitance.
and you are right a flat impedance curve suggests mostly a real component to the impedance.
Tannoys are the obvious choice and people often drive them with EL84 amps or 300B Amps.
One recommendation - you could buy a pair of Dynanco A25's to hold you over until you find a pair speakers.
A25's go for about $130 used and have a wonderful midrange.
A tube amp can drive the Alnico magnets of the mid/woofer with little effort.
Considering tentlabs clock or may be their transport kit. Thanks for tentlabs suggestion.
1. Does it matter if I get a decent transport or I should be fine with my old CD player since I'm getting a DIP/clock upgrade with DAC 8?
2. What cables you are using with your DAC 5? I think I should upgrade from monster cables.
After changing 3 different transports with the Xindak DAC-5,
I am of the opinion that even though the DAC reclocks the bits,
the DAC takes on the personality of the transport.
For example, the transport, sets the frequency responce and dynamics.
Where as the DAC sets the resolution, or how close it gets to an analog sound.
After trying numerous digital cables,
I've found the best digital cables with the Xindak DAC are the 1 meter Monarchy DR-1 and 2 meter Tributaries V1.
However, I have not tried a Xindak digital cable.
This is a good artical dicussing rise time, termination impedance
and cable length concerning a SPDIF cable.

1. I agree after shuffling through 2 CDP's and a PS3.
I wonder if 100% uncompressed music on decent hard disk based source or music server/squeezebox used with some DIP/clock and DAC would sound just as good as any high dollar transport/processor/CDP combination.
2. Choseal is the cable included with all Xindak DAC's which makes me wonder why Xindak does not include their own generic $5 cable instead of asking Choseal to supply. Perhaps Xindak relabels Choseal cords/cables/tweaks and sells as "Xindak" or may be Choseal is the maker of the cables for Xindak per Xindak specifications. Choseal cables are available under $100 even from authorized sellers.
If I have a choice of picking 1 meter or 1.5 meter from the cables you are referring then which length is to get?

Quick responce here
Storing music on the hard drive of a lap top computer definately seems the way to go.
I wonder what digital eq it could have.
Saying this, I'm not sure what the best method would be to transfer bits to the Xindak DAC.
For an SPDIF cable, definately go with the 1.5 meter cable.
