Question: On final assembly before first fire up, and am not sure what to use for C9, as seen in the online Pass Manual for the F-5, on the last page. Its a cap labeled "line" and ".0033" is the only other designation. Is this a disc capacitor, or what? What part should I use and voltage, if any suggestions want to be given?

Variac is on standby😀

Much appreciated,

Russellc

Hi,

What you want is an X2 suppression Capacitor. They are fire proof and withstand 2.5kV without letting out the magic smoke. X1 is good for 1kV. They're dead cheap and available almost everywhere. Many many devices use them, so if you have an old piece of equipment you might want to look there if you're in a hurry.
Value, as far as I know, is of no big concern, just make sure the cap is specified to be hooked up to the mains.

No affiliation, just came up in a quick Google search:
