Anyone know a source for the 10 uf aeon cap? Seems like all the suppliers
I have found dont have that value, and it about the only affordable cap that actually fits the board with out manipulation.

thanks for any leads,
Russellc

have you tried these?
http://www.theblueplanetstore.com/

Mundorf Film Capacitors

how many do you need, 2? i will check if i have any when i get home

Say, if you do have a couple, I'll be happy to purchase them as well as the price of shipping. Have you ever ordered from blue planet before? It looks like its "Orca", who I used to buy focal drivers from years ago. My Mozzilla browser
keeps popping up a warn that its an untrusted site and so forth. Sometimes this is nothing, and other times its an imposter phishing. I suspect all is well and this is why I ask if you've been using them lately? Strange that I cant find any contact info other than the address on the site.

Papa recommended Axon caps because they're affordable MKP specimens.

The cap on the output is there to block DC, the larger size is necessary for decent production of low frequencies.
10uF is a (de facto) standard value for the output of anything from buffers to phono stages and line amps, as in "easy to get"
A value of 4.7uF would be cutting corners, but the only one that can tell 9.1uF, 11uF, or 10uF apart is your wallet.
Bigger never hurts, btw.

Thank you for clarifying this caps function and the effect (or lack there of)
in the B-1 of slightly different sizes.. Problem isnt really a problem. It just called for them, so that's what I looked for. Now its just a matter of size.

Thanks again,

i looked and i do not have any 10uf. i bought a bunch of axon from them, although it's been over a year ago.

excerpt from original b1 article :
(I used Axon 10 uF metallized polypropylene from Orca Design). Feel free to use any comparable types.

sonically equivalent

The one below cost me 70 $cents.
A bleu colored FEP cap from the same manufacturer has the edge, but a cheapo MKP bypassed with a small candy cap eats all similar size polypropylene competitors.

but what is

A metal foil capacitor.
The likes of Vishay Roederstein KP1830-KP1837, Wima FKP, Reliable Cap PPFA/X.
Or prime beef polystyrene such as Relcap RT/RTX, small size Wondercaps or old school Siemens KS.
And PTFE caps, as the Chateauroux/SCR that was linked to, or something Russian to keep it cheapo.
A stack of 2.2uF Wima FKP with a 0.1uF styroflex/teflon bypass is pretty ok, shame it looks so messy.
