Hi WrineX,
Please look at the picture of the ink bottle. I'm not sure if you could get this particular brand outside of Thailand though.
But, I'm very sure that any brand of black poster ink will be fine. My friend in Taiwan has tried a bubble jet printer's ink. And it is good too.

i guess i need to apologize for saying that it was a farse, as i don't have a aprataus setup to measure resistances much over 2megohms.sorry.thank you wachara for pointing this out,i usaly don't state things unless i know for sure, my bad, sorry.i stand corrected . jer

Hi,
When I tested the first sample, part of the ink was still not completely dry. You can see from the picture that lower left side was still a little bit wet.
I've just tested the same spot on my first sample again. The ink is now completely dry. The resistance is down by 10 times of my first measurement result. It now only measures around 20K ohm.
This is to confirm again that the black ink does contain carbon, or other conductive stuff. 🙂

Hi,
I make two small samples to measure the conductivity (resistivity) of the black poster ink I used. They all show some conductivities as shown.

The first paint sample is thicker (darker) than the second and its resistivity corresponds to that. I get 220K ohm from the first and 4.8M ohm from the second.
The measurements are measured by a cheap multimeter.
I'm quite sure that black ink contains carbon.

where did you get this cheap meter because it does have all the functions that im looking for 🙂 student does not have the money to buy a real good one, but to confirm stuff like this is great to have such meter

WoW! 20K ohm when dried. That ink must be loaded with carbon black.
Thanks for the measurements and details on the ink.
It was about 5 years ago I was in search of conductive black ink.
I tried all the black inks the local art supply store had, and none of them worked in the least.
Here are 3 I know I tried that are NOT CONDUCTIVE...can't remember the others.
Higgins Waterproof Black Ink - BLICK art materials
Higgins Waterproof Black Magic Ink - BLICK art materials
Blick Black Cat Waterproof India Ink - BLICK art materials
But check this out! Here is one they didn't stock 5 years ago that specifically states it contains 100% carbon black pigment.
Speedball Super Black Waterproof India Ink - BLICK art materials

Nope, not 20k. 220k.
Nope, not 20k. 220k.
Nope not 220k, 20k. My apologies, I was only looking at the meter reading.
what is a practical coating resistance, and what is considered too much or too little?some opinions please. jer
