I read it no differently when i put them back:
and neither did the other mod that pointed out this post.

Please let me know where this is posted! I have never tried to cause trouble with anyone that treats me with an iota of respect. I am not here to cause any trouble and have not done so, unless provoked. I do not go out of my way to make trouble and never have.
I now see how you could read it that way. I think with a little punctuation and perhaps different structure we would not have read it the other way.
Pot calling the kettle black? 😀
I respond to posts that are directed at me and have no intent other than to incite trouble like so many of the scientific crowd here like to do. The real delusion here is that these same members feel that they have the exclusive right to talk down to anyone with a subjective view point and that the abused party should have zero right to respond in like fashion. In my world if someone swings at me, they will find their butt on the ground in short order. The unwritten law of "don't let your mouth write a check that your butt can't cash".
Too many of the scientific crowd like to degrade the subjective listeners with snide remarks and then expect to not receive crap for such dirty tactics. These are types of things that professional adults should have outgrown I would have hoped anyway.
I fail to see what you are seeing and warning me about her Dave. Where did you get the line that you were trying to make your point about. It is not present in this post, at least not your inferred intent.
Curly, I think we have it sorted out now.
Well how about an apology! 😡
Tried and convicted on sentence structure...pretty iffy.
I read it as the mods did too... Other than that first sentence (which I did think was a strange thing to say, interpreting it the way I did) I felt it was a very good post. The problem is it is an emotive subject and it is very easy to interpret one way or the other depending on your mood. Until Leadbelly pointed out the other way of interpreting it, I really couldn't see it. Such is the nature of the human mind... It will often interpret what it thinks, rather than what is actual.
Tony.
Guys, you are bloddy hopeless, if I may say so
I think I understood Curly very well, in saying that he would take on any battle, and use all means to get his right, without any hesitation, pure aggression
Mods didnt warn him because of what he said, but because of his clear promissed intention
Thats what the warning was about
Not his words, but what would happen if doing so
At least that how I understood instantly
I think its perfectly clear
Thats exactly when it starts getting nasty, and pointless, and damaging to the forum
And thats what I meant previously by saying that problems start when people care too much about themselves rather than their fellow members, or the forum in general
Egoistical without any kind of team spirit
But if one cant take a simple warning better than that, maybe one should be a bit more careful with the words

Hi Tony,
Like I pointed out, the sentence has a subject; it was clear to me on first reading what Curly meant.
I was surprised a bit by Dave's interpretation.

I will take you at your word. The intent of the message still stands and applies to everyone.
Further, even if provoked no-one should cause trouble.

Double negative.
😀
C'mon guys, stop being so touchy about everything. I mean, both sides... ahm, I should say all sides 🙂
Have a glass of something and listen to this
YouTube - Bach: WTC1 No. 4 in c sharp minor BWV 849 (Richter)
😉
Let's be friendly, not terrorists!

MJL/John, I remember you got a direct warning too, making certain promisses and clear intentions
Is that what its about
Man, Im glad none of you can reach the bottom that starts the final nuclear destruction
If you challenge the rules, theres a consequence, but dont expect it to be fair, and it dosnt really matter either
What is fair is that theres a consequence, nothing else
I would say, pick your "friends" and help them, or whatever
If you prefer wrestling, go in wrestling club and do it properly

Hi Curly, all,
If you are looking for an attack or insult in other people posts, I'm sure many can be interpreted that way.
One thing you must consider is that carrying on an argument in the course of a thread is extremely destructive to the flow, and we normally don't tolerate this. The proper course of action is to take any disagreements off-line. You can report a post and use the "ignore" button. So there are tools that will allow you to exist peacefully.
So don't get into it in a thread. All those posts are off topic and everyone knows better anyway. There you have it, no fighting in a thread.
Curly, my own observations tell me that you tend to drag up the subjectivist thing far too often and many times in situations that don't involve that idea. We have talked off-line and I think we have a better understanding of each other now. Can you chill on that topic? This forum has existed for many years without huge issues with subjectivist vs ? In fact, there are almost no purely measurement based designers around. There is no antagonist.
You aren't the only one Curly. I just used you since you posted closest to me in time. My point is that there really isn't that much to defend against in reality. The injection of these ideas into a running thread is off topic.
Now, let's all dive back into threads that interest us and learn something!

Some problems start here actually. Deciding on the intent of another person by what is written in print is difficult at best. Too often the intent is misconstrued and used as an excuse to attack in the name of a defense. The suggestion that we should grow a "thicker skin", or assume the best from a post has generally fallen on deaf ears for some.I am not here to cause any trouble and have not done so, unless provoked.

Well how about an apology! 😡
Not necessary but thanks for the offer. We only ask that you structure your sentence to avoid the misinterpretation in the first place. It has caused confusion and confusion in this case has led to extra work by the mods, wasted bandwidth and ill will among the members.
Now, do you see how this happens?
<snip> it was clear to me on first reading what Curly meant.
I was surprised a bit by Dave's interpretation.
It was clear to me also but it happens to be on the other side of the coin. No wonder you were surprised. So was leadbelly. That's not say one side was right unless you wish to deal with intent versus presentation. This is one of the more difficult things to interpret when you are dealing with the written word and especially with the careless use of the language as we see in today's computer forums and the like.
Anyway, I'm glad it was sorted out and that we can move on.
