Help

Posted 18th December 2009 at 03:03 PM by ed444ed

Hi

i am a first year architecture student and my current project is one where we are asked to reinterpret a space using a device that we must invent! our site is a long railway bridge with many tunnels. the device is supposed to help navigation around a space. i am passionate about music and sound and play many instruments and produce music myself.
the device i intend to create is based on the principle that sound travels more effectively through different materials. (gasses liquids and solids)
i want to create a device that attaches to a surface in the space and emits a sound. perhaps a pickup that is attached to a glass and connected to an amplifier. so that the sounds around the area are amplified in a way that is unusual. i have never experimented with audio electronics so i am sure that this is alot more complicated than i am aware of! PLEASE GIVE ME TIPS!!!!

Hi - I don't know if yo found what you are looking for yet, but you should have a look at Parts Express online. Search under "TACTILE TRANSDUCERS" they have plenty and some are quite cheap. They will do exactly what you want.

    Have fun!
