Cyrus 1 Caps

Hi, anyone know how to determine the polarity of old Elna caps? They are orange electrolitics but have no indication of the negative side.

Thanks Stuart

Having a rubber side, then it is positive....not having may be non polarized, or having indications erased...when we remove them from the circuit, sometimes some electrons remains..and you can measure some milivolts...this way you will know the polarity using your multimeter..if shows non negative reading, then the red probe point will be positive and the other, of course, the negative one.

Other way is to put voltage on them and to measure the leakage current..some microamperes may leak..the less leaking polarity is the correct one.
