This thread is about the Dayton 8" Neo FR driver.

Which as of this post is now in stock it seems.

The main thing is that this is NOT a DECWARE driver, but a discussion of possible mods and applications seems appropriate.

I think we had this one before when it first appeared, although it may be buried on another thread.

Anyway, appears to be a good unit for its type, decent connectors, powerhandling / efficiency look reasonable too. I don't much care for the neodyminum magnet, but at least it's not one of those Micky Mouse affairs with a ring of small magnets (ignore the sales talk -they do the multiple ones because it's cheap) instead of a single item.

Yeah, tough crowd over there. Good to see a die-hard multi-way designer like Curt take on a project like this.

For anyone in Aus, HAS Audio in NZ (Hasaudio Speaker Components - International Suppliers of Speaker Components and Speaker Kits) has the PS220 and the PS180 for a pretty good price at the moment.

The price has shot up 100% in the last two weeks! If you want your Neo speakers--you are already too late unless you can dig up some NOS deals out there.

Wow... a niuce driver but i thot they were a bit pricey when they were ~$200 each.

Looks like anything that relies on neo could price itself out of the market pretty quick

those multiple magnets in 8" TB are good for pullin' screwdrivers outta hands. Does PS220 have a good strong/flat midrange? (like 206)

If it isn't a daft question, what's happened to the data sheets on the PE site? Since they changed it a few months back, trying to find anything has become increasingly difficult.

They are over to the right side at same level as Product Details in a little block called "Manuals / Resources" Took me a liittle bit to find. not as clean as it used to be. I still can not get reviews to come up. But, I use a bunch of script-pulling add-ons for Firefox. Just trying to find what one lets that show.

The other pdfs come up fine, the specs pdf as a blank page (in Acrobat (bad encrypt dictionary), preview and illustrator)

When acrobat won't open a pdf something is wrong. They are also now using a lot of $%#@^(! Flash which is a PITA.

Whenever I open their spec sheets, 90% come up blank.

There has been some recent issues with Firefox and pdfs. I've experienced it. I just got some recent upgrades for both, too soon to tell results.

I was able to open it once, and than when I wanted to have a second look at the frequency response, it didn't open. But what I remember from the first glance is that is climbs fairly steeply from 1/2 KHz to beyond 1 KHz. How to build a box around that to correct it? I would appreciate other's insights on this.
