The new Tube-I-zator V3.1

The new Tube-I-zator V3.1

The evolution brings the following changes:

- Anode PSU with Salas SSHV Shunt Reg. onboard
- External B+ Input for usage with other Anode PSU
- Heater PSU with C-R-C filtering
- Heater PSU with Softstart circuit
- Heater PSU Power LED

- Design failures corrected

Thanks to John (-ecdesigns-) for the following suggestions!

- Grid stoppers to prevent unwanted oscillations
- Bias current injection for TDA1541A usage
- Pull-down resistors to keep the coupling cap output at GND-potential

Still on the Module:

- Heater switch for 6N2P or 12AX7 usage

The evolution brings the following changes

- Jumper for I2S / simultaneous mode
- latest 3.3V attenuator for I2S & simultaneous mode (by -ecdesigns-)
- free running DEM oscillator (by -ecdesigns-)
- additional U.FL pads for I2S & simultaneous mode
- Separate U.FL-GND route to Digital-GND


Still on the module

- Separate I2S-GND route to Digital-GND
- Separate Analog Output GND route
- Separate GND route for active divider decoupling caps to Analog-GND
- Modified active divider decoupling pads for better SMD 1210 caps soldering
- Un-interrupted ground plane
- Direct shunt voltage inputs with shortest onboard traces

Well my friends it is time again to say thanks to all of you, who like and ordered my pcbs.

Because i am no developer of electronic circuits but have the knowledge to design pcbs,
i wanted to give something back to the community.

Since i started with my 1st pcb, the Optical-Volume-Control on 15th October 2009,

SSHV-Shunt Module

My last thoughts to optimize the Tube-I-zator goes to the B+ High Voltage lines.
To get the maximum flexibility, i have made splitting points in the lines.
The splitting of the anode psu lines brings upgrades possibilities.

You could use e.g. a tube rectifier with C-R-C filter instead of the onboard andoe psu or
switch to a regulated shunt psu, witch in my mind brings the greater sound quality upgrade.

With the experiences from Salas low voltage shunt on my DAC project in mind,
i have made an upgrade module for the Tube-I-zator based on his HV shunt circuit design.

Reference TDA1541A DAC PS Module

All lines are designed for the Mundorf M-LYTIC AG+ 4-Pole caps.
If you want to use normal 2-Pole Snap-In caps, just short the pads.

Diode snubber caps could be integrated.

This module is an alternative to the +/- PS module for those,
who dont want to use many small caps.
