cone diameter of 100mm
Same as the Alpair 10s with are 5¼, Cone on a 4” is more like 70mm.

Yeah, I'm starting to remember something along the lines of measuring from the middle of one side of the surround to the edge of the other side of the surround...
The outside diam of the jordan is around 5.8" and the outside diam of the SB is about 4.8" Nothings ever straight forward
Tony.

It is for all musicIs it for all music, or just particular tracks? Sometimes a track's spectral content can yield where the problem is.
I'm experimenting with that now, the imaging etc is varying less now when I standDid you try throwing a couple of duvets or blankets on the cork floor to test your HF floor bounce theory.
I've tried toeing in and straight ahead which is effectively 30 degrees relative to my listening position. I think it would be preferable to have them straight ahead as I would get a better reflection off the wall behind them?Have you tried toeing the speakers in or out to get that level of off axis when seated?
They are widebands with a LR4 xover at 125HzDepends on the xover design. Some have on axis tilting up a bit. Mine listen better lying down.
both
which means that You have effectively no floor reflection
quite unusual but no surprise here that You like it
BTW, if the Eikonas are anything like most of Ted's other designs, the bass would be astonishingly good, within power limitations. You may be crossing over too high to get the best out of them. The ragged HF peak looks typical of his larger designs; I last used Jordan drivers with JXR6s and JX150s crossing over at various points (active analogue crossover- easy to change) to maximise power handling and minimise HF beaming/peaks. But my wife couldn't cope with a 3 way active system, so I have gone passive. A big mistake. They are widebands with a LR4 xover at 125Hz
Yes, they do go very low in the VTL enclosure. This is what I have built, but with the back panel removed at the moment so they are open baffle. They could be run without crossover and just have the subs filtered in lower, don't know if this would be better or worse though

I've heard a lot of the Jordan drivers but never had the pleasure of listening to them. Hm ..... may be some day I get to purchase the drivers and experience them myself.
Try to get his genuine drivers. Things like the EAD versions have pleated rear spiders, while his earlier versions had cantilever rear suspension. It makes a difference.I've heard a lot of the Jordan drivers but never had the pleasure of listening to them. Hm ..... may be some day I get to purchase the drivers and experience them myself.
I have been listening for a while now to my speakers and listening position arranged in an equilateral triangle 2 metres apart and 1.7 metres from front wall no angling so I'm 30 degrees off axis. Very happy now with the width and depth of image, having a straight on reflection off the front wall also seems best.
