I believe all Halite is formed as a result of evaporation.
I thought mined salt has little or no iodine, I guess it could be evaporated fresh water.
I think you're right, the salt that is mined has lost much of its mineral content naturally and then stripped completely by the processing. Real sea salt is filtered sea water then evaporated so it's going to retain a good deal more. The problem in today's market is the 'sea salt' is often refined to achieve a nice white colour so any mineral benefit it once had is long gone.
But sea salt is still the healthier alternative for a person no?
What colour is natural sea salt BTW?
It varies but looks like mostly white or gray without help.

The salt container there is one of my favourite redundancies. 'Sea Salt'
Ya, no secret there. Where do you think it came from?
The dollar store Its not the best tasting kind but is better than the mined salts. Or is it. Gosh they love messing with the consumer's head when it comes to most things, now add salt to the lists.
Sea salt from the dollar store.

AFAIK, the NaCl we eat is either evaporated from salt water or mined from an old body of salt water. Please enlighten me, if I am wrong I wish to be corrected.

The black salt mined in the Himalayas is full of minerals which contribute strange flavours.

Apparently neither have enough iodine to supply 100% of the dietary amount anyway, but sea salt has traces of potassium iodate while some claim the black salt does not.

I think this needs a controlled DBT.no blind taste test needed there
Aw **** it, let's use our taste buds instead.

The wife in the kitchen can definitely tell. I can hear it now, "You used that pink salt again."

Just make them another cocktail. Then it won't matter.
