One reason that I ask is that while the additional wattage could be useful, my experience with amps that can be switched from ultralinear to triode has been eh. There is an improvement in midrange but not enuf to float my boat.
I highly recommend to use Western Electric 300B. It is realtively esxpensive to buy but cheap to own. There is no tube in the market to offer 5 years warranty..
